Lay Me Bare

Folder:
Poems.

There's something in the moon tonight. I feel it in the air. The dew is shining bright tonight. I notice something there. In the distance people sleep tonight. My mind is never scared. The shadows are my friends tonight. Alone in the dark I stare. Under street lamps I stand alone tonight. Cool wind blowing through my hair. Over here the secrets lay tonight. Leave me, they won't dare. My thoughts paint the trees tonight. They stand tall and fair. Cement below my feet tonight. These streets, they lay me bare.

i used to think

I used to think no one like me

a forest of a single tree

i stood alone head held high

thinking truly they know why

In my mind they was confusion

i was under an illusion

untill after much debate

i had to go back and translate

Everything again all anew

angles seemingly all askew

I had glimpsted me through your eyes

and oh boy! was i surprized

So thank you for prooving me wrong

a delusion of pain i had for so long

it only took just that one soul

to take a wreck and make them whole.

To be embraced

To be embraced

By jfarrell

To be embraced…

For another’s arms to envelope me,

Hold me close,

Hold me tight;

To feel another’s warmth;

Not just the physical closeness, the physical heat;

But… the acceptance..

People wanting to hug me.

And I so want be hugged;

I dare not….

What if people knew how desperately I wanted that…

How vulnerable, open to attack and mocking, would that make me?

In 3 hours I will be 50….

These past 49 years

Been severely lacking in embraces, hugs and all human contact…

Fingers crossed, they’re all saved up and coming my way now.

Otherwise…

What point is there?

To Paddle One's Canoe Over Still Waters (A Poem About Fictitious Love Stories)

To Paddle One's Canoe Over Still Waters

Seeming storylines are child's play

Appearing to you like 'tis

something funny

Out of our little trembling political

situation

If only stars are the silent majority

They must twinkle—endlessly, without a noise

No matter how far we are,

theoretically

The light year spanned space-time

to have brought

me to you

—wondering, now, if vice versa is

also

true

In a sense of delight that had made

young lovers swoon

'Tis a mother's loving caress to a

newborn

A perfect love of Astrological

compatibility

And forever they will

choose to share lovingkindness

—to each other & for others.

As well.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is a repost from my Twitter platform & which has been edited for a very minor misspelling of "light year".  I have corrected the two-word noun.  For anything else that I might have edited (e.g., I might have also missed), that could only be involving a tweaking of the form (e.g., which might have been changed/affected by my copying & pasting method of the verses; either that or other copyediting stuff like by changing fonts/font sizes).  Thank you for checking it out.

You Give In

Folder:
Depression/sadness

It happens when

you're all alone....

No one answering your calls

No one answering your texts

No one there for you...

That's when you look over,

and you see your blade.

That faithful friend...

That friend who's always there

when no one else is around.

That friend that

can bring you comfort,

bring you freedom,

make you....

alive.

You don't dare

tell others that

this is how you feel...

That, even though it's wrong,

you actually....

enjoy the blade.

You keep that inside,

it's your little secret.

You slowly reach out,

knowing you shouldn't

but you're done resisting,

and ready for that comfort.

So that's when you

go ahead,

you hold it in your hand,

feeling the familiarity of it.

You place it to your skin,

you press it down,

you pull on it,

you drag it across your skin.

You give in and let it win.

You cut.....

You give in.

Let me know what you think, or whether you think there's a better title for it, or really anything!

Please!

These Walls

These walls were all around me,
stretching far and wide.
These walls were up inside me,
spreading like a blight.
These walls, they kept me away
then there was a light.
I had a friend that would stay
and to this friend I say,
no longer sheltered and afraid,
that I will be there for you
If ever a wall you made.

Above

It is dark.

The old ones groan pierces the silence as his back is bent.

I knew he would, I could have expected this.

He surprised me although he didn’t.

A door opens.

The faint light of a single candle shines upon a grinning face.

I deny it, knowing that I know he knows.

It hurt, although it didn’t.

To deny the father

"I am your god...your father...I came from heaven to create you in my image, to bring light to this world!"

"He lies...you are aboninations...brought back from death to serve an unholy purpose, to exist as slaves, nothing more...no man under heaven was meant to wake from the grave, and he is no god!"
