clouds

wailing undertones

Nature / Folder 1

............

dimly lit skies, and a dewey, warm waft of air

saturates my skin with breezy atmospheric breath,

in the distance, dark luminous clouds frame the skyline,

like a syndicate of angry politicians after an unfulfilled mutiny,

scathingly awaiting a liberating reprise.

clusters of dark grey sheets loom

behind multiple satiny sheer curtains of microbursts

that frolick beyond the parched brush,

and far away, a crescendo of rumbling chaotic warnings

can be heard, but it's arrival is unknown

and the length of it's stopover a mystery.

still, i am confident as i witness it all,

my mind's eye knowing of the sun's

flirtatious collaborations

in this dramatic dance

of nature's undertones of fury,

and await the show with anticipation.

as i pull in the driveway i hear

the expected yelping

of a 70 pound red heeler/sharpei mix,

his keen aural senses in a tizzy.

Expanding here upon the magnificence of power nature has over us. That there will always be something or someone that has power over us---of that we have only left, a choice of how to perceive it---and that our inner strength of character and faith, during those moments, is really all we have left in the face of any fear, no matter how overwhelming.

Symptoms Of Impending Change

Every symptom speaks like the clouds that summon us,
Floating above, under the shining sun or not,
They tell of a tale unwritten,
Unheard, they advance upon us and try to reveal
The things we cannot imagine
Because of our beliefs about what is 'real',
We stifle life itself by the limits we create,
With delusions of our greatness, we suffocate,
Buying time through plastic containers and spreadsheets,
Stocking faith in bulletproof vests,
Weathermen on a boxed screen,
And 800 thread bedsheets,
And no pillow found upon the earth soft enough
To lie a mind to rest for the night from the fears that await,
We close our eyes and all we see...hate, and take a pill...
Subjugated to live by these things we create?
Or can a man be hurled upon an altar of beauty
Such as that which arises from love, the pulchritude and allurement
Of exquisite elegance, by his very soul?
Could he be torn from the shackles of earthly woes
And these likely shadows-to-be of despair?
Might he be manifest as the creature of gracious giving
That were meant for him?
As these symptoms of cataclysmic change
Are rapping upon the door of time and space,
The symptoms of a world now disgraced,
So superficial, devoid of all spiritual freedom,
Every thought ordered to a pigeonhole
Before a chance can hold a place for a hope,
What we have created guides our thoughts on a tightrope.
Can we break the barriers of the past

Through a boundless discipline of a kind,
And untwist the cords of a nightmarish collective mind,
Hear these symptoms of change speak in the freedom we find
With hearts that banish the fears created by thoughts confined?

Lying in Bed

I was lying in bed

I had something stuck in my head

please someone pull it out

please someone pull it out

I was sitting inside the fire

I didn't scream I just let the flames burn higher and higher

I couldn't talk

I couldn't talk

I fell asleep inside a cloud

I slept for a hundred-thousand years

I didn't make a sound

I didn't make a sound

I was lying in bed

I had something stuck in my head

please someone pull it out

please someone pull it out

Sweet euphoria

so enticed by your own suffering..

it keeps coming back around..

just when you think you're standing up, you get pushed down.

you wonder, but why bother..

I know what that feels like...

to be swallowing dirt, with your face planted into the ground..

your mind is in constant crucifixion..

you can't look at the clouds, & know the sun is behind it..

the hands of time move in circles...

quality is not quantity..

tomorrow is not today.

if this storm hovers over me,

if it fucking pours down on me,

for all eternity..

raindrops will glisten through my eyes..

you'll see I never tried to hide..

because the rain can bring out our true colors,

when given the chance to pass..

I will walk along a street of rainbows,

while the past burns, & falls to ash..

my heart says not to turn, & walk away..

but so badly it yearns to fly, & just escape..

oh, Sweet Euphoria..

rain dropped

Folder:
hunger

south blown breeze brings dark clouds across
green tinted city skyline..

rolling rumbles followed by silent volumes
which draw your gaze..
..into it’s mystery..
sudden craaaack announces its secrets to the world..

bright flash forks rivers of power
to crash against the earth..
air crackles with the chatter of the four winds
whispering awe..

bolt of insight reflected in your gazing eye’s hungry grasp
of the storm’s mystery..

Prism of maimed love

i'll walk alone.. with your precense carved into my heart...

not even stones could break down what i've built up. not any hatred... no fear.

it's going to stay right here..

as long as it remains untouched.. if I can manage to let it be..

then i'll always have you with me.

as much as I may look up to the stars & cry..

as much as I ask the sun why...

how often I wish the clouds away..

is as much as I feel you every day..

maybe there is a sharp fence around your heart...

is there cotton in your ears..? is your vision pitch black..?

have you gone blind? is your mind in tact..?

do you think you're just fine..?

silly me.. still wondering, though we've left it all behind..

all I really want is to die in the grace of someone I love..

gazing into their eyes.. arms held tight..

my spirit could finally take flight.

i'm so fucking sick of this misery..

i'm tired of not having any energy..

i'm done with the pressure on the sides of my head..

i'm finished with the aches in my back..

i'll drown out all the nausea..

I will forget about the broken glass..

the shattered past..

if we didn't know such a thing as sadness existed, would we still feel it..?

She Said

when I look to the window outside, she said. it hurts as the world passes me by, she said.

this sharp ivy grows around my heart, she said.. leaving holes inside.

I want to hear the sound of the grass beneath my footsteps.. the wind pushing forward..

I want to see the sunlight beam into your eyes, & right through back to me.. so lovely..

to hold you & know it's okay, even for more then awhile, to get lost just lying there, admiring that smile..

you'll always be precious to me.

I never gave you up willingly.. it's the way things came to be.. great memories, but greater pain..

so full & complete, then so drained.. fragments floating around, everything that used to be..

debris.. in this cloud, drifting down..

to me your pain is so loud.. I can hear your screams from afar, like they're all kept in a jar.. thrown around..

smashed is the glass, it shatters deep inside of me.. shards left where you once were..

the screams are traveling through, these veins course, wishing to intertwine & convene with blood we both keep warm..

become one..

i'm sorry this pathetic heart is so latched onto you, & that my mind cries out for freedom, to penetrate the atmosphere..

this grey sky feels so confining, like the clouds are keeping us where we are.

no escape.. miserable daze..

some day i'll fly through these clouds, & into my own world of happy haze..

where the memories are far weaker then the future, or power of my dreams..

CLOUDS

Folder:
REVISED

CLOUDS

A visible mass of droplets
frozen crystals in the air

suspended in the atmosphere
clouds floating everywhere.

Sometimes light and fleecy
softly floating by

other days dark and angry
as they begin to cry.

Raindrops gently falling
frozen crystals melt away

drying up their eyes
preparing for another day.

They continue on their journey
on the ground they lay

preparing nature for tomorrow
prehaps for another day.
