The Beauty in Love & Art

I doubted I would find real, mutual love for the longest time.

That is only because I've looked in the wrong places and have fallen hard every time I thought

I found a missing part of me.

The problem with me is I don't fit in when I'm in any other group.

All around me in my daily life, I end up doing things I didn't want to do.

My life is getting stuck between a rock and a hard place when I choose

To be something I feel is right for me.

You're not hard to please for you are a fellow artist who shares my passion and attraction.

We color each other's worlds and we help each other out when we need it the most.

I give you my passion and you give it back in return.

We are not dependent on one another because we can take care of ourselves.

The sea leads to many places and although I have not landed where I needed to go,

You found me and led me in the right direction.

With you and me together, "lost" has no meaning.

We are simply taking our time to get to where we need to be.

The forsaken world and everything that was wrong with it will be far behind

Once I leave what destroyed me before and look for who I am.

The chains that keep me from breathing no longer exist

When I am somewhere else in the consciousness hidden within.

The art I color is vital to me as taking a breath.

Likewise, the more we are next to each other,

The more I see how selfless and warmhearted you are.

The way you treat me thaws my own heart until there is a flame that surrounds it.

A flame that only burns when you and I continue to bond.

Only you can see and feel how special it is to me that you make me feel that way.

I dream of us meeting face to face so we can make our artistic worlds come to life.

You teach me many things that I hold onto in my life.

Being with you helps me resist temptation that hinders my goals.

Speaking my tongue to you helps me become wiser in knowing the right things to say.

Presenting my own art to you helps me gain the courage to keep blossoming until my colors bloom like summer flowers.

More importantly, revealing my hopes and dreams to you gave me the escape from misery I longed to achieve.

In return for your kindness, I give you my passion and complete our missing soul.

To truly build up trust, all we have to do for each other is stay and that's what I will do for you.

*The Colors Of Nature*

 October-10-2000

The color of all the leaves when they change

For when they get ready for winter

Where all the animals get arranged

And you trying to get out that wood splinter

For the winters snow will begin to fall

When the insects go into hiding

You know they heard the colds call

Watching all the animals deciding

All the colors of nature

Change the look of everything

All the leaves color the pasture

All the beauty that nature has to bring

In the kids hearing all their laughter

A calm sound when the nature sings

*Description of a Bird*

October.2. & October.5.2000
Trisha M Barrek Hopkins

So many different melodies
So Many Different colors
The beauty within some never sees
Some drink flowers
Some attack to get their pray
Others have no strength no powers
A lot go to sleep during the day

Even though there are many birds
Near and Far
They usually fly in herds
Some can fly as high as the nearest star

We love them all
Big and small
But like always they must go
Soon it'll be fall
Most birds hate the snow

Until spring arrives
And the flowers bloom
South is there the birds will fly
Somewhere that's warm
Will be their new cozy room
Away from the cold winter storm

*The Sun*

November-11-2002

I bring warmth to those cold
I bring energy to those weak
No one believes in what they are told
They only search for what they seek
I help many things grow
Without me so many would die
I help out so much in life's flow
I just sit here in the morning sky
Exactly what my purpose not many know

I brighten up lives after the rain
I make most happy I take away pain
I ask for nothing I have nothing to gain
I just leave a warming stain
And for that most are thank full
I just ask don't stare
You will get more then an eye full
You will get a strong lasting glare
So for your eyes take care

After the rain I can help with the rainbow
Dry up after a flood
I put a glisten to the first fall of snow
I dry up unwanted mud
I'm always wanted around I've been told so

After the showers
That come and go
I bring comfort to the drenched flowers
Everything has a beautiful side that I hope they show
Nope I don't have special powers

Painted in the Canvas

Folder:
Just a thought!
Streaming through a sun swept field, Tethered ballerinas dancing in the wind
Waves of iridescent colors blow across a sea of refracted cotton candy.
Never a sweeter breeze, I could wisp it round a cone and taste it's allure.

As a choreographed ballet sways with balance and perfection, sunlight glistens

through silken shawls while a few lace ribbons float around with the wind.

Natures creations in full bloom, petals fluttering up a wind song as the breeze

whistles through bouquets of timeless beauty. Kneeling at the edge rows,

the wind rustles through my long silky hair; I become part of the symphony.

Immersed in this wondrous creation... I am forever, painted in the canvas.

Different Colors

.....

Colors have many diverse meanings,

Depending on where you live,

One country might honor black for it's peacefulness,

In another country it may mean something evil.

In America, we attend a funeral in black,

In India, white is for death,

So if I ever wear white to a funeral in New York,

Half of the mourners will be holding their breath!!

Green most all over the world,

Stands for new life, regeneration and hope,

In a handful of places it means those things as well,

But also can mean envy and jealousy.

Blue means a variety of different things in the world,

In politics it stands for liberalism in America,

But in the UK and Europe, blue means conservatism,

And in Israel, blue the color of their Coat of Arms.

Varied meanings you see, when we gather the colors,

And we have disussed only a couple of them here,

The Chakras in all of us have colors that shine

And all have their own meaning, too.

When in conversation with people from other lands,

It is good to know this about color meanings,

Because some people can become indignant, even rude,

If they felt disrespect by use of a color is exuded.

I do not think there is a color for hatred,

Because hatred is 'custom made',

Hate has a special color all to itself,

Because hatred happens when we hate ourself,

And the opposite of love is fear,

Anger can be expressed as a few different colors,

In some places it's fiery red,

I look to the colors of nature, instead.

Silver & Gold

Not quite gold

But somehow always compared to it

I've heard of its value,

Its mention through the years

Mostly exsting in wedding bands

Or in cutlery for the wealthy.

I do not know its worth

I do not know gold's either

And there the comparisons continue

I wonder if the element minds

Remaining in second place,

Always being looked down by gold,

Its perfect big brother,

If you will.

Silver makes good heart-shaped lockets,

I'm sure it also serves

To uncover a deadly monster

Featured in Supernatural.

I'm sure silver does not like being silver.

I wouldn't want to be silver.

I think gold is what silver wants to be.

It does not want to end up a knife,

Spoon,

Fork,

Silver wants to be wanted

So much that others fight for it.

Silver wants to be looked at

For its bright color,

Not the dull grayish one

It comes with.

Silver could be gilded,

Though that would make it worthless.

But I don't think silver is that bad

If you really think about it.

Gold attracts too much attention,

While silver is a reserved one.

I know silver wants to be gold,

And to stop being compared and contrasted

Heartlessly

But maybe at the end of the day

Silver just wants to stay silver

Knees, Knives and White Eyes

Out from back to front

Death-sharp and menacing

Knives

Injesting insecticide

All the bees inside her belly will die

White eyes

Mush hide

Crystallize

Transformer

Electric-hair brush

One exposed knee

Smeared on orange-lips

Visions

Hanging Illusions

Truths burrow tight and deep
