The Aura Can't Be Hidden

Whether it shows red with anger,

olive green with envy,

yellow with mentation

gray with depression

purple with compassion,

gold with purity

blue with serenity

pink with happiness

bright green with healing

or infinite unique

combinations of these,

an individual's aura

cannot be hidden

and never lies.

They're out to get you!

There out to get you

People wonder why I'm a shut in and don't go out alone

And it's simple mathematics unlike a bankers loan

You ask them for assistance and get no till your blue

They don't care if you are homeless cuz there out to get you

I hate all this fear of what tomorrows fighting will bring

Just like the night before a battle to a mighty king

It's on going all the time and I don't know what to do

But one things for certain there out to get you

When will this madness and misery all just go away

With my luck it's hear to stay deep inside me come what may

Someday maybe I'll be OK and my smile won't be past due

And all will be right again cuz they won't be out to get you

Blue,

Is the sky,

The sea,

Wears the same,

Hue!

Author's Notes/Comments:

A new form of poetry created by me is called ‘Haqueian Verse’, which starts with a single word; it has five lines that contain ten words in total. The poem ends with a single word that rhymes with the first word.

Aliens

A friendly face is always one to remember, and I remember his the most.

When we were kids we played together, in highschool we were inseperable. Then in college he became my husband, till death do us part... Thats what we always said. But what we didnt expect was the arguments, two years into marriage and we were both done. We tried to stay together, it was just to hard. After many arguments we decided one last try, one last 'honeymoon' vacation.

"Lets go to Mount Fuji he says, It'll be fun he said." Beth punched a wall as she angrily muttered mean words about her husband.

Jamie rolled his eyes at his wife, knowing exactly what she was saying about him. Beth took a look at her knuckles with the light on her head, they were bleeding.

She quickly wrapped her bandana around them to stop the blood, "How are we going to get out of here?" She asked.

Jamie looked around the hole they fell into, it was dark, cold, and wet.

They had attempted to climb Mount Fuji on their own, it hadn't worked out so far.

" I don't know Beth, but it looks like there might be something over there." He pointed his light towards something in the distance.

"What is it?" Beth walked towards him, she squinted, it looked like it was almost glowing.

Jamie went to the wall that held the odd glowing object, Beth followed.

It was a gem, a blue glowing gem with small white specs in it. "What do you suppose that is?" Jamie said while poking it.

"Jamie." Beth Squealed "Don't touch it, what if its alien?" Jamie snickered, "Honey I don't think aliens exist." Beth rolled her eyes and smiled. "Haven't you seen the X-Files Jamie? The truth is out there." They both laughed, the most real laugh they've had in many months.

Jamie and Beth Sighed, Jamie still having his hand on the gem, touched Beth's hand. Then all of a sudden the room lit up, there were many colors, dancing and swirling. Beth closed her eyes, she was afraid, she felt Jamie embrace her. The light stopped, she looked up to see Jamie's eyes very wide. She looked around her, she was in her living room. She ran to the window, and saw everything just as it was when they left home. She turned to her husband, "Alien."

Nothing Lasts Forever

Folder:
Voodoo

I'm standing on an island
An island of blue
Surrounded by chaos
But caught up in you

Storm clouds shaded my desire
Yet, this rocky terrain fuels the fire
I've been lost for so long
Never looking for The Way

And now you've found Me
I wasn't looking for you
But something told me
It whispered your name

Come on and take My hand
Baby, we can't stay forever
But for a little while we can pretend
Nothing lasts forever
'Cept on this island of blue

Dark shades find us
We turn the light and blind them
Voices carry but don't you worry
The sands of time will guide us

Here and now
I fight but fall
Win or lose
I only know
Nothing lasts forever
'Cept on this island of blue

I look on past the distance
you pull me close and whisper
"I want you so bad it hurts"
And the earth below deserts us

Ill fated illusion cast it's net
But, let's forsake this ruin
And find what we've always been wantin'
Because, nothing lasts forever
'Cept on this island
This island of you

Author's Notes/Comments:

This started as a poem but evolved into a song.

*Red,White,And Blue*

September.23.2001
Trisha M. Barrek-Hopkins

Red,White, and Blue
Who would of thought
Who would of knew
That these colors are a symbol of freedom
People decide to let it in their hearts
It wasn't bought

To bring this nation together
To bring peace to our home
This symbol is here to stay forever
No hate can tare our faith apart
We will never fight alone
Together we stand strong from the start

Each morning we sing
That brings joy to each of our souls
To many... these colors
They are more then a material thing
To many of us ...For the beginning of the day
It is a great goal
A song of peace to our minds it will bring
That our flag will always sway

Red is for the warriors who bled
To keep the family and friends free
White is for those who got lost in the clouds
Blue is for the proof we have clean air to breathe
The stripes are for the ships that blow their horns so loud

We are strong
Our world is built as one
We try to understand
Those who did wrong
From all these deaths our minds are still in amazement
We must for our heros remain strong
And pray with one knee to the pavement

With the Red,White, and Blue by our side
We stand tough and tall
The power to fight good we will not hide
From any evil that can try to make us fall
Because our heros will put up a hell of a fight before they died

Mismatched.

Mismatched is my mind.

Alone in the quite, as birds sing the blues.

The sky changes color as time consumes the

ocean of my mind, and never lets the flower

blossom.

Mismatched is my mind.

A knock is heard on the door, but he's not

awake enough to hear. The quietness only

becomes louder every second the clock ticks

further.

Mismatched is my mind.

The coffee on the counter steams away,

becoming nothing but dark liquid that

doesn't have the desire to be drunk

anymore. The milk made it's way to the top,

and sat in utmost peace or perhaps as a

loner.

Mismatched is my mind.

The desire of everything washed away, as he

rests on the bed, internally weeping away.

The phone keeps on ringing but he is too

busy counting each tick passing away.

Mismatched is my mind.

Constantly reminding me how there is no

one who can see, because of the veil which

covers the hearts.

Mismatched is my mind.

Where the closest people to me only know

how to misunderstand me, so I sit tapping

my finger tips and holding onto a string of

hope that may not fail me.

Mismatched is my mind.

What happens next, I don't want to see. I

can't be dependent on anyone, not even me.

Mismatched is my mind.

Where God only sees, and the rest stay blind

as the time ticks further-

Mismatched is my mind.

Life is already leaving. When it has left,

perhaps they will wake from sleep.

Mismatched.

Author's Notes/Comments:

A freestyle poem, that has a touch of sadness in it.

What is Okay?

Tell me, is it ever really "Okay?"

At times I wish I could disappear, away from the day.

Tell me, was it really all a mystery?

Or was I really something plagued by history?

Judge me, try to reason my scars,

Yet, were you there for  my unreasonable wars?

Did you ever set foot in my shoes?

Taken account of what brings the blues?

Tell me, does it really matter?

If I was any more the sadder?

Perhaps it's just my business, only my trouble.

Not another place to intrude into my bubble.

I'll solve my self alone, and myself alone only

Not for you to break my silence, maybe tonight, I'd just like to be lonely.

Blame my shortcomings for my scars if you dare.

For me, it just occurred, the past isn't something I ever chose to wear.
