Mohammed let me down

Mohammed let me down

   By jfarrell

The eclipse…

There; so many infidels we could have slaughtered, like pigs;

But, Allah, didn’t speak to us;

I don’t understand;

Maybe,

Even mohammed fears god?

No order to attack?

C’mon, they are camped in fields in their droves;

No police; no concrete blocks;

One single truck…

Hundreds could be dead…

But,

No……

Maybe, even your mighty Mohammed fears god,

And his wrath;

Me? I’m an infidel, don’t even believe in god;

Sorry, with the eclipse;

You’re failure to act;

Either you’re a bunch of pussies;

Or your, personal, Allah’s full of shit.

And I’m easy to spot, if you wanna put a fatwah on me;

I wimp, cowardly looking westerner, wearing glasses;

My profile pic is me;

But blowing women and children up more your kinda thing

Coz that’s wot worthless cowards do;

Hurt those weaker.

C’mon, big man (hehehe “big man” hehe, wot a tosser);

Seriously; the eclipse; not one message from Allah?

That’s why you will lose :-)

You don’t really believe;

You’re just tourists. And ill-informed ones, at that.

As I float through space…

As I float through space…

 By jfarrell

I can only say “WOW!”; and, cry;

Our planet looks so beautiful; so blue;

So much water… So much green;

I cry, over and over;

So much TRUE beauty;

How could I not cry like a baby?

I am being crushed;

All oxygen, all my life;

Sucked from my body; but,

Damn, Earth is SO beautiful;

If this is to be the last thing I ever see

Let me float through space;

Forever.

Birth

Birth

                          By JFarrell

The lightening strikes;

My skin prickles with its intensity;

My breath catches

And though I hear the first undulating rumblings,

It’s only when I feel the thunder’s vibrations beneath my feet,

That my clenched chest is released and I can breath again.

Outside, the rain lashes my windows like pebbles;

The wind howls its sorrow, its fear;

But in the darkness of my tower, I smile;

My whole body is tingling with the power and excitement;

  1. … 2… 1…

    I push the lever as the lightening turns my world to blind silver

    And the breath is sucked out of me;

    As the very atmosphere is awakened by the charge

    And is drawn, as if by the elements themselves,

    To the heart of the patchwork cadaver before me.

    I hold my breath in anticipation;

    Eyes wide with excitement, smiling like an idiot

    As the stampede of static-charged air centres on me

    And crashes in with an explosion of bass

    Forcing me to me knees.

    And,

    In the stillness of the storm;

    Between the lightening and the thunder;

    Between the rat-a-tat of the rain;

    I hear IT breathe.

                     :-)

Day and Night at GCNP

In the light
We wander
Into the
Rocky chasm.

In the night

We wonder
About the
Starry abyss.

In the light
We clamber
Around the
Daunting edges.

In the night
We amble
About the
Haunted ridges.

In the light
We are humbled
By the grandeur
Of what lays
Before our feet.

In the night
We are crumpled
By the expanse
Of what lays
Beyond our reach.

Sunday Evening in June, London, 2017

Sunday Evening in June, London, 2017

By JFarrell

The cats wearily open an eye as I walk by,

Too tired, too hot,

To see if I come armed with a bag of sweets;

The chirps and tweets of birds;

Sparrows, tits, pigeons, gulls,

As they nestle in for the night.

The sky is a light blue-gray,

And the deep violet clouds are edged with an orange hue.

Just a single plane in the vastness of the sky.

The light breeze is very pleasant

Getting under my shirt and up my sleeves

A very welcome coolness.

Peaceful.

I wish it could stay like this forever;

In peace;

But, with the morrow

Will come the aftermath of last week’s tragedy,

Hopefully lessened in tension and anger, if not grief;

And who can foretell what else

Tomorrow or the days after may bring.

Though I know it can’t last forever

I still wish peace for London and the World

In the hope that one day it might.

The Beauty Of A Dove

The Beauty Of A Dove

It's sad. So sad I want to cry
A little girl grows up-
Then waves good-bye

She finds within her heart, a love
So deep, so true-
The beauty of a dove

She laughs with joy abound,
But it's not there-
For is it love she's found ?

She's scared the love she's found
is not real,
But it is no dream-

Her wound will someday heal
But suddenly she's not afraid of love,
For it has come-

The beauty of a dove
I want to cry, I want so much to cry,
She's found her love-
Though someday she will die

But I won't cry for her,
She's found it, she really has-
The beauty of a dove.

On Nights, Such as This…

On Nights, Such as This…

By JFarrell

On nights, such as this…

The rain teems down in sheets

From a deep indigo sky

Laden with thick, heavy, ominous clouds

The lightening strikes down as serrated blades

Followed by, at first, a quiet, almost unnoticeable murmur

Which grows in depth and volume to become a deafening rumble

The only other sound

is the hypnotic sibilance of the rain

Droning out a tattoo

On nights, such as this…

Guy Fawkes and his conspirators plotted

ISIS contrive their next act of cowardice

The dark creatures feel stronger

Highywaymen held up coaches

Punks with knives rob the weak

And those that thrive in darkness feel braver

On nights, like this

Vermin are given more courage

To rob, rape, kill…..

anything a coward thinks will make him a man

Because, the day shows the shameful, pathetic excuse for the man he really is

Flies

Flies

By JFarrell

I hate flies

Little ones

Big ones

Elephant sized bad ass kamikaze bluebottles

I hate flies

How they eat

Regurgitating onto the food

Through their

Proboscis

An acid that melts what it touches

Like the acid blood in “Alien”

With their oversized

Multifaceted eyes

Watching the puddle stew

And then

Sucking it up

As if it were tomato soup

I hate flies

Butterfly

Butterfly

By JFarrell

The thorax is two inches long,

Black, but with little white stripes,

Looks like a bee;

The round head is crowned

By it’s two antennae,

Alien senses.

The wings twice as wide,

As the thorax is long;

Almost symmetrical,

But not quite.

Blue,

Like the sky on a bright, sunny, cloudless day.

Each corner has a spot,

Lipstick pink.

The most beautiful butterfly,

I have ever seen;

It takes my breath away,

It makes me feel anointed by the gods.

“Where did you see such a wonder?” you may ask.

I can not answer that question,

But, my lover might.
