destruction

I still hold my pail

We used to play in a sandbox

then we removed the boundaries

and created a world of sandcastles

But I didn't consider the tides

would wash away our creations

I fell in love with you in that world

When the tides came

you washed away with them

And I miss you...

"The Demons of Man"

I fabricate skyscrapers, piercing the heavens with chrome blades.

I see a world of fire: combusting, incinerating, devouring.

Silence.

The valleys burn red with blood stained spades,

The universe watching discreetly, towering.

Violence.

The demons of man ignite the skylines as day bleeds to night,

The structures emitting a silent roar as the stars lay breathless.

Destruction.

The avenues inhale kerosene, reflecting red light,

The cities burn to ash, dying, defenseless.

Reduction.

As the aggregation of starlight coats our landscape with a luminous glare,

The ruins of a million memories electrify the skies.

Dissolving.

The fires burn out as the moon is relieved of its empowering stare,

The once amplified street pinned under its arbitrary demise.

Devolving.

Once upon a time, when man walked with man,

I stared in the eyes of a world worth living.

Perfection.

I watched as it twisted, tore, became a cancerous scan;

Mankind destroying itself, relentless, unforgiving.

Deception.

As I walk under a sun that illuminates a planet encased in sorrow,

Tears fall parallel to light rays.

As clouds float in a boundless ocean, awaiting tomorrow,

I continue roaming, a stranger, in a world astray.

Poetry

Xastur

Hear ye the Voice of the Elder Xastur,

The mournful sigh of the vortex,

The mad rushing of the Ultimate Wind

Whom I call upon Aphoom-Zhah;

Swirling darkly among the silent stars.

Hear ye Him howling serpent-fanged

Amid the bowels of nether earth;

He whose ceaseless roaring

Fills the timeless skies of hidden Leng.

His might teareth the forests

And crushed the cities,

But none shall know the hand

Or the soul that destroys.

Faceless and foul walked

The Elder One,

In likeness of Nyarlathotep;

His form to men unknown.

Hear then His Voice in the dark,

Answer His call with thine own;

Bow ye and pray at His passing,

But speak not His name aloud.

Author's Notes/Comments:

A poem about the Cthulhu Mythos deity Xastur (better known as Hastur).

Liar, Liar

Just For Fun

Liar, Liar

On the wire

How soon till you fall

How long till you hit a wall

And every last lie

Will crash and die

Flames burn a hole

Into your soul

When you see the destruction

Of your construction

And you’re left all alone

Because of every lie you own

And when you wish that you were dead

Than hurt one hair on their head

For at last they can see through your lies

You can’t see the pain behind their eyes

A Dark Fantasy

I’m on a planet with a golden kiss
It shimmers with glory, such bliss!

As I zoom in, it turns into a dark land
Peep in, I’m afraid, I cannot stand!

In darkness, I see a bright glowing tower
Inside, a plethora of so called ‘man’ power

Zoom in; I see ‘beast’ kind disguised as ‘man’ kind
Alas! Not a single kind beast could I find

I hear roars of uncivilized beings
And moans of so-called weaklings

I see a trail of emotional turmoil
Those 7 deadly sins wrapped in a dazzling foil

Gifted to humanity, his power, his grey matter
It separates humans from animals and allows us to shatter

The once created planet with a golden kiss
Will it ever show the signs of holy bliss?

Author's Notes/Comments:

A voice against the deadly sins committed by so-called humans!

You Lose, Andrew

It's over now and the sun is out
And now there is a different view
Of what there was and what is left
From Mother Natures child, Andrew.

His birth was quite unwelcome
His screams heard through the night
To warn us all of what was to come
From his bark and from his bite.

As he moved his strength would push
The wind and rain to it's most
With total destruction in his heart
He trained his "Eye" upon the coast.

He was dead set in his mission
He knew exactly what he'd do
But we were only left to guess
What it'd be like he was through.

So we tried to prep ourselves
In the best ways that we can
Against a force of nature
That has no respect for man.

We boarded up the windows
And fled to higher ground
Knowing that when we returned
Maybe nothing would be found.

Just what things will Andrew take
If he fulfills our greatest fear?
Just the things we can replace
Or the loved ones we hold dear?

Well, his fury did take plenty
Both in property and lives
As he cut his way through cities
Like a million wheeled knives.

But even with all his power
There was a greater from above
That shined on all God's creatures
To protect them with his love.

For within his divine wisdom
He is the only one who knows
How to keep so many safe
From Andrew's angry blows.

Yes, Andrew paid his visit
And he did his nasty sin
But when he's gone forever
It's the people, their deeds
and God's love that will win.

Drowning

Everywhere I look is destruction
Everything I’ve built is ruined
It’s remains litter my past
With little hope for the future
You are my own worst enemy
It’s not the pressure of what I should be
It’s that I’m drowning in a sea of Me
I can’t believe that you’d lie to my face
But that’s your nature
You can’t help it
You’re a spawn of the Father of Deceit himself
A child of the devil
Just let me go
Die already
That I may live
And live fuller
Let go of me!
I am no longer am under your power
So why do I fall for it?
Why can’t I die that I may live?
Why can’t I kill my Self that I may survive?
That demon of ancient instinct
Who’s preyed upon my soul for so long
I know what’s right
And yet I choose wrong
Willingly
Passionately
Go to Hell Self,
Go back to where you belong
Free my soul from your clutches
That I may live eternally
For I know you
And I am my own worst enemy

This I Ask

Make me a torch
Set me aflame
Like you did to those before me
A burning fire,
Bright and hot
That cannot be ignored
Use me as a light
To shine on the dark
Use me as salt
To attract those who are hungry
Make me a preserver
To uphold the human soul
Use me as Your mouth-piece
The still, small voice
That draws them to You
Those unforgettable words
That shakes the soul
Use me as Your hands
To heal the broken,
To comfort those who mourn
To give them beauty for their ashes
And joy instead of sorrow
To rebuild the ruin, the devastations,
And destructions of the past
Use me as Your feet
I’ll go where you send me
For “I am here; send me!”
Lord, use me as a servant
To teach through what I do
Not just from what I say
To “Harvest, for the time is ripe”
To serve others, and not myself
Father, show me to be Your son
Your blood washes over me
Show this to them
That they can see
That they can hear
That they can shout
What You have done for me
That they can know
That they can understand
That they can be loved too
And that is only from You

Beams From My Eyes

Grant me the depths;
the impartial, all-encompassing
hatred for the place
containing me and mine. Let me
see as it burns -- burn as I see,
taking none to hold, eventually to be
divided by my eyes, from
which the beams arise,
from where I cannot fathom and
where I only vilify this place...
These people I have met and known...
From birth until I've grown.
Toss away what little care
I have for what's called home, and
let me singe its structure by
lashing through my gaze.
I'd take away its semblance of
completion; I'd gladly be its
doom from which it can't recover.
And as I bring collapse, grant
me courage to depart from it;
rather I would watch it fall,
or rather would I leave it all for the next to find
and bind it to a new foundation.
