The Cabin

cabin window seat

so icy and cold outside

hot chock-lit warms me

Just For Fun

I never knew I could want something so much

Or someone so strong

As I did you

Sparkling beauty like diamonds in the sun

Light skin and dark eyes

Lovely to behold and dark within

How could I know how this would end

I gave you everything

I grew intoxicated on your kiss

And then

You sucked the life out of me

And left me cold

I never had a chance

I want to stop thinking
I want to just lay there
I want to be numb
I want to be cold
I want to never see the light
I want to be in the dark forever
I want to be still
I want to stop feeling
I want to be emptied
I want to be hollow
I want to stop breathing
I want to die

When Death Feeds

Light and Dark

After the thunder

Comes the rain

After a blow

Comes the pain

After it’s done

Comes the shame

You shouldn’t have done it

Brother Cain

Did you not know

That death is hungry

Did you not know

It always needs

Did you not know

It’s never full

Didn’t you know

It eats him who feeds

Cursed are you

For killing your brother

Start life anew

Far from another

Marked is your forehead

So you’ll never forget

Your feet feel like lead

Death feeds on you yet

Why does the sky cry

When I’m crying

Why does the wind howl

As I’m dying

Why do the animals whimper

As I bleed

Why is it so cold

When death feeds?

Author's Notes/Comments:

The story of Cain, the first murderer, who killed his brother Abel out of jealosy. This is written as Cain's point of view from his death-bed many hundreds of years later.  Enjoy

You can't move

You lay in bed, motionless and heavy

Concious mind, unconcious body

Only your mind is breathing

Your lungs are black and broken

and your heart is beaten and battered.

You feel it coming, don't be scared.

You feel the cold, fill up the hollows of your bones.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Feeling cold spiritually, as opposed to the actual physical sensation. It feels horrible.

Post-Solstice Annual

Snow makes mockery of the night and
takes away all the dimming grayness
that stole the late hour from the stars.

Creatures spread thin dart across the sleet
and frost-encrusted ground in pursuit
of elemental sanctuary.

Jack came late, stumbling from the trip,
and ranting about the southerners
who steal away the birds come the cold.

All the while we scrape at the frost
in the quiet, yet desperate hope
that we'll wake to the warm tomorrow.

Cold Feet

I must be getting punished
My heart has turned bitter
3 AM I'm waiting
This must be the coldest winter

Underneath the street light
Where we're suppose to meet
I thought I new you we'll
She must have cold feet

What happen to plan A
We even had a plan B
Please stop playing
Put some socks on those feet

Maybe I'm insane
Or in fact it's just love
I must be going crazy
To think you'd actually show up

Save me from what I’m becoming
Fading from what I once was
Into a shadow of what I’ve been
Breathe life into me once more
Revitalize the ghost in the machine
I have become
Like a shadow on a cloudy day
Not living
Not dying
Just existing
I want to burn
Than feel nothing at all
I want to freeze
Than feel the chill of my own apathy
I want to die
Than just exist
I want to live
Than just watch life
Give me a purpose
Show me a meaning
Save me from what I’ve become

Darkness Falls

Whispers of winds, gently breezing ~
Snow falls down; blowing, freezing.
Loneliness assists the painful crying ~
Reaching, wanting, loving, dying.
Pale skies with winter showing ~
Devouring light, darkness growing.
Fate it lurks, quietly stalling ~
Turning, running, jumping, falling.
Leaves chasing, nature stealing ~
Wounds gaping, never healing.
Tears dropping, falling, streaming ~
Whims, wishes; always dreaming.
Nights so cold, never warming ~
Nightmares, you; ever swarming.
Pain and suffering, trapped within~
Darkness falls on a heart of sin.

This poem is half of a set; sort of the yin to the yang of my poem titled "Blue Skies & Butterflies"
