Whisper of the Breeze

The breeze did whisper,

In my left ear,

Uttered something gently,

That I figured out barely.

Perchance it was a memo,

From her whom I loved much so,

Perchance it was not,

Hence I tentatively thought.

Whatever it really was,

It made me rather solicitous.

*Enchanted Whisper*

August-30-3013
Trisha M. Barrek-Hopkins

On a Clear snowy night
In the middle of the falling snow
I promise not to leave your sight
I will stick by your side until it is your time to go
My tears my love are so hard to hide
But I know it would be cruel to keep you as you are
It would be selfish to ask you to fight the pain you are feeling
Soon my darling you'll begin healing
I understand you'll always be near never to far
You whisper to me you see this beautiful light you see your angel above
So calming so warm peaceful white
An Enchanted whisper I can hear from your love
It will stick with me in my heart always
As i lean in to comfort you i know you're on your way
Because your last breath i feel
My last tear drop falls onto your head
I still can't believe this is real
I no longer feel your heartbeat I now know i must go on without you
You are now in the embrace of your angel
And left behind is your lifeless body at my feet
I look above me I feel a small snowflake fall on my nose
From the pain my sweet
You are finally free
Again your enchanted whisper I can hear
"My love our souls are still together
Just like from the start
So please live your life before again we meet
Remember we are never truly apart"

This Old House

This old house is alone

Dark and damp

Where there used to be sunshine

Now is gloom

There are a lot of rooms

Plenty of places to hide

But you hear nor see any children

Just the quiet

The walls whisper

In the deep night

Mirrors watch you

Everywhere you go

There used to be laughter

Now only tears

Someone died

Deep inside

This old house

Has been through storms

Hail and snow

Thunder and lightning

Yet came out strong

Has many memories

Of past and future

Just another home

Open the window

Let out the dust

Mop the floors

Let them shine

The spider on the wall

Has been here too long

A beautiful web

She has weaved

But this old house

Needs to let her go

It needs lots of work

People to come and go

Sweet Memories

Folder:
Songs

Time flies by way too fast

And what was the present’s now the past

And I think how we were back then

The trees whisper your name again

Sing to me sweet memories

Of just how great things used to be

Remind me again what went wrong

To end the time when we’d get along

Laughing and playing in the summer breeze

Jumping in the river from an old tree

I remember how great things were back then

Sing to me sweet memories

Twelve years later at a county fair

Our first date I was so scared

But your hand felt so right in mine

How would I know I’d forget that time?

Our wedding day, and honeymoon

Before long you’re a mother soon

I felt like I was on top then

I wish I could go back again

Sing to me sweet memories

Of just how things used to be

Of how her kiss felt that night

How holding her felt so right

Knowing my son was on the way

Thanking God everyday

I remember how great things were back then

Sing to me sweet memories

Here I sit in a Hospital room

Doctor says it will be soon

Forgotten life for so long

And my body is not so strong

But as I’m leaving, just before I pass

I see my life through the looking glass

And I see my wife once again

I remember how it was back when

Sing to me sweet memories

Of just how things used to be

Kiss my wife every night

Living, loving through my life

Now to Your Son, I’m on my way

Thank You God everyday

For letting me remember how things were back then

Sing to me sweet memories

Sweet memories

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this song from the viewpoint of an old man with alzheimers.... I don't know, something just clicked as I wrote.  Enjoy

Elara

It's not my place to tell the stars
their order's out of line.
Nor, tell them which direction
I think they ought to shine.

It's not for me to scorn the moon,
when she hides herself away.
Nor, direct her to the water
and tell her how to sway.

The sun of course, can't hear me say,
that every morning, every ray,
his light's too bright and scares away,
my shadow buddies, kept at bay.

My voice can't carry all that far,
to travel space and time to stars.
My voice of course, it knows it's part,
to whisper to your heart.

Whispering Colors

I've been whispering to these colors
As they've been whispering to me.
Oh how I would imagine,
How they simply could be.

Kiss me!
Kiss me!
They say,
as they whisper to me.

Us,
and only us!
They plead,
as they whisper to me.

They conceive me,
into believing,
what they want to be,
They consume me.

They twist me,
They turn me,
into a world of believing,
Oh, they conceive me,........

Take me,
into this fantasy,
into this place,
that is glazed, with daze.

Make me,
into a radiant whole being,
because seeing is believing,
oh, they conceive me,.........

Take me,
Make me,
do what you believe,
oh, I will conceive,..........

Consume me,
and move me,
into this fantasy,
Oh conceive,.........

Consume me,
become me,
make me believe,
what you want to see,

Consume me,
my body, my soul and my spirit,
Consume me,
You are my body,

Now, you've become me,
whisper to me,
oh, you fantasies,
Whisper to me.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I just wrote this poem in like two minutes. It just came to me. As my poems usually do.
