Do Not Be Like Them
Because they're losers
who prove their worth to the world
—like birds without wings
Greed is bad,
Greed is perilous,
Greed is harmful,
Greed is venomous!
Daily days of a routine craze
You are in an endless bottle where you will not find praise
and you're at the bottom of it, and one things for sure, you will not get to the top, it is not just a phase
It'll seem like forever,like a maze
But there's no ending, and there's no raise
You are their slave.
Are you angry!? Shut up! You better behave
Can you keep quiet about your nonsense about this word called "deprave"!?
You are my merchandise, you are my favorite and overworked microwave
If I could, and it was legal, I would work you in a grave
I could care less how it is evil, there are two people talking to me.
Greed and Crave
You, a cash cow.
Do you know how much you made us now!?
Get it done, right now! No! I do not care how,
But free time is not something I will allow!
You work for one, but they like to count, soon you'll be working for two
Two becomes four, and even more, workers will see, and working becomes few
They'll complain, but did they ever put on your shoes?
You're working for all of the fools, and for corporate, there is no end to what you will do!
Work the best? That's a mess
They go upstairs, put you apart from the rest, put you all of you up to the test
Sooner or later, they'll put you and all of your skills to the excess,
A break? A lunch? Forget about it, there is no time
For something like recess!
To us down here it's pretty sadistic
But to the people up there, it is more than realistic
They are always looking for you to do more the next day, you feel it's too sophistic
They don't want to hear about it, to them, finishing is just simple simplistics
Doesn't it just get you so ballistic?
You are just a mere statistic
You will not get further, they will not let you turn the page
Are you kidding me?
You are the bottom of the barrel,
The lowest stage
Welcome to the daily uniform apparel
Welcome to minimum wage.
Destroying Legacy
By jfarrell
For profit,
Legacies are being destroyed.
My children’s home, for example,
And social housing trusts.
Long before I, or many of us, were born,
Rich, caring people, ‘philanthropists’, we called them;
Left great areas of land and building
IN TRUST!
To be used for social housing, children’s homes….
Hospitals, schools, the list is endless;
A hundred years before I was born
A rich person entrusted his lands which became my children’s home.
That piece of land, holding 25 houses, for children in need,
Was sold for one, solitary, single pound (british);
And each, now private, semi-detached house
Sells for a quarter of a million pounds.
Whether a hundred years ago, a person left housing,
Or today, you build a school…
Because tomorrow we make money selling it…
What real legacies are there left, or will remain?
They will sell it.
Carnal Minds
There was a time henceforth when I had ten thousand dollars to spare
Happy with what the Lord hath already blessed me with, I decided to share
Having no need for the money I called two local men to mine house
Rumor had it the second man had the reputation of a cheat and a louse
The first man whose name was Greed, came in and sat near as could be
Behind him was a man named Wisdom, but he sat far, as he smiled at me
I told them both that I had five thousand dollars to give to each
Then said Greed, "give it here now!" as he leaned closer so as to reach
While I counted the money I looked upon wisdom's silence as wise indeed
For I knew he was patient, and of life's carnality he did heed
I counted aloud the words "Five thousand" and then quickly did Greed snatch away
His half of the money, so in life's pleasures he could foolishly play
I looked up expecting a gracious word of thanks from the greedy wretch
But he was already gone without a word; it was Satan's lures he did fetch
Then I looked over at my friend Wisdom, who was never reeled in by Satan's lure
He always appreciated the life that the Lord hath given him which in itself was pure
A very uplifting man that always a smile for me and all that did pass by
For he was happy knowing our Lord whom graciously arose in the sky
I handed him his share and he quietly tucked it away
Then he went on about his business until a later day
A week later Greed ran Wisdom's old wagon off of the road with his new car
As he laughed about wisdom spreading his money to the poor afar
Then without notice the man in the sky did call
He said “The books are open, now come one, now come all!”
Greed waited in line continually bragging about his carnal things
Until he learned that he had traded them for his heavenly wings
He went to a place not fit for a man as he looked up at Wisdom flying by
He pleaded "Just one sip of water I beg you bring me from a cloud up in your sky"
Wisdom smiled and said "Dear friend, I stored my money in Gods eternal bank"
It was your earthly treasures that did demote you to a sergeant in Satan's rank
It was only yesterday that you passed a starving woman in your car so nice
I stopped in my tracks, gave her food and shelter, I didn't have to think twice
Now I am here with her in paradise, the place the Lord set aside
For those with a conscience and a heart, who in his laws did abide
Though I did have a thirst for life's carnal things
I knew that I couldn't fly up here without my precious wings
Speak to me no more from the pits of Hell
For justice is served, and I chose well!

I am free
You'd choose greed
As I gain control of the sun,
I don't know where these feelings came from
And soon engulfed in the power, I became corrupt
My soul at stake, and my heart sewn shut
With all to have, and everything to lose
To people to expect you, but later no one to enthuse
And like anything, nothing seems to go as planned
Beauty and grace, quickly sunken in the quicksand
Will you and I become like the one everyone dreams?
Or be the source of why everyone shivers and screams?
Tell me, is everything ever so perfect?
When all we see is beauty in the defect?
The balance must be exact, they say
Else things quickly fade and thus, end night and day
Life is so very hard, don't you think?
The pure water turns to blood, quickly down your sink
But you and I have lost the mind to care
When you've gone down a path towards nowhere
As I go deeper, the world becomes dark and lonely
Life becomes artificial, greedy, and phony
Even the calmest of hearts can go dark
To the quietest rabbit, into a hungry shark
And the sky has no own to owe it to shine down to
Our hearts are now corrupt, frozen, and black and blue
And thus everything becomes pitch black
And those we love the most, die from a heart attack
All because we ignored the qualities we lack.
Everything can change by just one small decision
Little do we know it can change what we envision
What ever will you call a home now?
Everything but the past and dust upon what we call living
To what we cherished, fought, and nature that was once giving...
