Horse sense: I have classified this as a prose piece, but it could just as easily be labelled a "List Poem."

You Can Turn Your Mess into a Message

You can turn your mess

into a message

You can do your best

sharing advice

You can turn your mess

into a message

Put it to the test

That would be nice

Sharing what you learn

can be impressive

Sharing your concern

Being progressive

Everywhere you turn

So much is out there

Everything you learn

helps you prepare

You can turn your mess

into a message

You can do your best

sharing advice

You can turn your mess

into a message

Put it to the test

That would be nice

We've all been there

We all can share

Just be aware

You can turn your mess

into a message

You can do your best

sharing advice

You can turn your mess

into a message

Put it to the test

That would be nice

Do Not Be Like Them

Because they're losers

who prove their worth to the world

Parents

Hit or miss, it is better to have swung than not,

He would often say to me in my childhood.

Always put forth your absolute all in any effort,

she would tell me after a tough game.

These axioms they provided me, no charge.

It’s ironic, but also fitting in retrospect isn’t it?

That the wisdom they handed out for free,

turned out to be the most invaluable gift they gave.

Installed Perception

My style is real life but you ain't gotta make a choice,

I'm shading in the blanks with the sound of my voice,

I speak on some real shit, not just boasting about dollars,

letting loose some stories about the blue collars.

This ones for the people punching the clock twice a day,

barely sliding by from there measly ass pay,

hardworking motherfuckers who deserve another raise,

who get talked down to and deal with it anyway.

Cuz they know no other way, they all got plenty to say,

on holidays theyre working cuz the bills force them to stay.

They make this world tick but somehow go unnoticed,

I'll give you some facts in case you didn't know this,

this world likes to glorify the rich and the famous,

it's all over TV our whole lives can you blame us?

For wantin to grow up and live like a baller,

we believed money brought  happiness and shrunk problems smaller, but some lessons can only be learned with experience,

your advice to me will hardly ever make sense,

until I go through it and afterwards shake my head,

if I would have just listened to what my parents said.

The Differance between a Job and a Career. (Something everyone should know).

I once had a old teacher ask me,

" Do you know the diffeance between a Job, and a Career?"

The sad thing is i didnt know the awnser. So i told him "No", and waited for his response.

He looked to me and said " the differance between a Job and a Career is,

A Job- is something you do everyday to pay the bills and make ends meet.

A Career - is something you do because you love it and enjoy it.

A Job- is work.

A Career- fun.

But most importantly, He said-

The differance between a Job and a Career, is-

"IF YOU DO WHAT YOU LOVE, THEN YOU'LL NEVER WORK A DAY IN YOUR LIFE."

"But if you do what you hate, then you'll work for the rest of your life."

Don’t Despair, Little Bear

“Don’t despair, little bear,”

I once was told,

“Don’t despair,

For you cannot change the world.

And what you may well want to do

You’ll find gets rather old.

And all your hopes, and all your fears,

Will dwindle

Into yesteryear,

And all the lights that shine so bright

Will dull as time goes by,

And you and I

Will drift apart, we might,

And maybe we will find at night

Jjust how cold the beach ccan lie

With no-one by your side.

But we shall still remain,

And all the faces on the street

Will forever stay the same,

And both stupidity

And genius

Will laugh as they call your name.

And maybe they will cry as well,

Afraid of what’s to come,

But that’s the same for all of us,

In future sense so dumb

That we have no recourse but to

Down the occasional rum.

.......................................................................................

And though it may seem rather sad,

Cynicism can help.

And yes, it could, be a, bit mad

To preview what you gulp

To see:

Some small destruction of you and me.

Yet things are never so dramatic,

So when the scorpions scuttle

Into bedroom wallspace,

Your fervour romantic

Will not be broken,

Merely tainted

By the

Face

Of a hero

Token

Half-glimpsed in

A mirror someplace.

.......................................................................................

But thus you will continue to live,

And hear and see and feel

And even though

You will not know

Just what they mean to mean,

These terms shall inform your being,

And create a thing that’s real.”
