The wall

The wall

These words strike this wall. And fall to the ground in a pile.

Doing nothing, no damage at all. Still I write, and speak all the while.

They change nothing, have no effect. At least if they do, it's none I can detect.

But I pour them out, along with a prayer. Those are much stronger, they'll chip a layer.

I need new ones, ones never spoken. These can't show my love, this language is broken.

Maybe ones I have, perhaps in the right order. Finally break this wall, crumble the mortar.

I feel so small, and this pile is so deep. Still I clear it away, and start a new heap.

This barrier so strong, thick tall and wide. But I'll never give up, this can't be denied.

See I know this wall, and what waits behind it. If you saw it like I do, you'd know I can't quit.

I have to get through, and mend what I've torn. Show Im a new man, that I've been reborn.

Change took too long, but God it's here now. This I must prove, Lord please show me how.

You think I'm the Mason, I made it this thick. No I didn't build it, but I did mold the brick.

I'll never break through it, it won't come apart. I see this now, but there's hope in my heart.

If I can't go through,  I'll just have to climb. I dust off my hands, I've made up my mind.

I take hold, finding the cracks. I think I'm half way, but I'm scared to look back.

But I never looked forward, to see how far it is. I had faith in myself,  knew I could do this.

Of course I slip and fall, back down to my knees. It's help that I lack, why couldn't I see.

I'll call upon God, I'll take him with me. But I just fall again, how can this be?

So folding my hands, I pray once again. Lord I'm clearly lost, don't know where to begin

“You can't take me with you, or shout down a wall. You come with me, and you'll never fall”

He said this to me, though through a man's voice. I'll follow these words, I have no choice.

That wall isn't so bad, it gives her protection. And if I've cracked it, it's beyond my detection.

His word as my sword, and his hand I've found. No need to go over, he'll lead me around.

And on the other side, she sits needing mending. I give her the truth, no more pretending.

We walk with him, or this won't work at all. But if we both take his hand, he won't let us fall.

Walking away, both holding his hand. We set out to rebuild, with him I know we can.

I look back one last time, I see rubble no wall.  What I couldn't scratch,  he had simply made fall.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Another piece I wrote about love and relationships.  This one reflects how we can put up walls against one another, or help another build them. Also strikes at how hard they can be to tear down. Points out in the end that just maybe sometimes we need a little help.

Leanan Sidhe

My heart aches

It yearns for my beloved

A fire long kindled burns within

She is not of the Earth

Her scent is in the wind

Her voice in the rain

Oh how I long for her!

She is ever before my eyes

When I wake she is beside me

When I sleep she holds my soul

I quiver with desire for my mate

She is more precious than diamonds

Than mountains of choice silver

Golden is her smile

Seafoam and starlight in her eyes

Oh how I yearn for her!

Light and Dark

A solitary star

Distant and cold

Amid a universe of shadows

It shines alone

Small and white

It glows alight

Clean and bright

On its own tonight

Near the horizon

Resting between heaven and earth

The dream

Always the same dream

A sun covered in blood

Over a field of grey

Lifeless thousands

Innocents where Death took them

Now waiting for judgement

Waiting to judge

Blackness with a red star

Shining down on the aftermath

Death has a large appetite

Its jaws bite down on all

Gnawing on their inanimate bodies

The dying are crying out against it

But their life is but a candle in a breeze

Soon to extinguish

They were but innocents

Caught in the crossfire

But not I

Too long have I fought this war

Come Hades, come quickly old friend

My time is near

And I am tired

Take me

Treading Water

What's the purpose in this life of mine
To keep swimming in an ocean without end
The tide pulling me far from shore
They say I'm fine
That I'll survive
But I'm only human
My strength is leaving fast
How long can I stay afloat?
I sink into nothing
A world where I can't breathe
Fire within but water without
In poisoned air
Finally a dream come true
A never ending dream
Isn't life beautiful?
It is now...

Carnal Minds

Carnal Minds

There was a time henceforth when I had ten thousand dollars to spare
Happy with what the Lord hath already blessed me with, I decided to share
Having no need for the money I called two local men to mine house
Rumor had it the second man had the reputation of a cheat and a louse

The first man whose name was Greed, came in and sat near as could be
Behind him was a man named Wisdom, but he sat far, as he smiled at me
I told them both that I had five thousand dollars to give to each
Then said Greed, "give it here now!" as he leaned closer so as to reach

While I counted the money I looked upon wisdom's silence as wise indeed
For I knew he was patient, and of life's carnality he did heed
I counted aloud the words "Five thousand" and then quickly did Greed snatch away
His half of the money, so in life's pleasures he could foolishly play

I looked up expecting a gracious word of thanks from the greedy wretch
But he was already gone without a word; it was Satan's lures he did fetch
Then I looked over at my friend Wisdom, who was never reeled in by Satan's lure
He always appreciated the life that the Lord hath given him which in itself was pure

A very uplifting man that always a smile for me and all that did pass by
For he was happy knowing our Lord whom graciously arose in the sky
I handed him his share and he quietly tucked it away
Then he went on about his business until a later day

A week later Greed ran Wisdom's old wagon off of the road with his new car
As he laughed about wisdom spreading his money to the poor afar
Then without notice the man in the sky did call
He said “The books are open, now come one, now come all!”

Greed waited in line continually bragging about his carnal things
Until he learned that he had traded them for his heavenly wings
He went to a place not fit for a man as he looked up at Wisdom flying by
He pleaded "Just one sip of water I beg you bring me from a cloud up in your sky"

Wisdom smiled and said "Dear friend, I stored my money in Gods eternal bank"
It was your earthly treasures that did demote you to a sergeant in Satan's rank
It was only yesterday that you passed a starving woman in your car so nice
I stopped in my tracks, gave her food and shelter, I didn't have to think twice

Now I am here with her in paradise, the place the Lord set aside
For those with a conscience and a heart, who in his laws did abide
Though I did have a thirst for life's carnal things
I knew that I couldn't fly up here without my precious wings

Speak to me no more from the pits of Hell
For justice is served, and I chose well!

Author's Notes/Comments:

This one is scarey... Beware!

There, there in the graveyard was Silence,

No, not Peace, just not Violence.

Anger and Torment had left, but Silence had remained,

For what had happened, only Silence had been gained.

Silence had hung around,

Just hanging there, starring at the ground.

Silence was not old, but was among them now,

Silence was there, tied to the bough.

Stephen Hawking vs. Md. Ziaul Haque: A Logical Battle about the Existence of God!

Stephen Hawking, the highly esteemed theoretical physicist and cosmologist, says in his book “The Grand Design” that there is no God because-

1. Hawking’s first argument against God can be summarized by saying that God is simply unnecessary; that the idea of a Creator has historically been substituted for true knowledge about reality, but today we know better. Hawking writes, “Ignorance of nature’s ways led people in ancient times to invent gods to lord it over every aspect of human life.”

2. Hawking is affirming an eternal universe or eternal multiverse (an ensemble of universes), which is definitely one of the only two possible choices for existence, the other being God.

3. Hawking believes that natural laws cannot be “violated” in any way, and thus the God of the Bible who is reported to perform miracles cannot exist. But why must this be the case? Why can’t the God who created the universe and all its natural laws suspend them when He chooses?

However, I humbly disagree with Mr. Hawking. Here are some of my original points, which support the view that there is God:

1. I think science should accept the existence of God because the universe cannot be created so perfectly by nature itself.

2. The scientific explanations of how the planets are created seem illogical to me.

3. If the universe were created by accident and without any logical reason, then there would be so many mistakes and imperfections in nature. For example, there would be half, incomplete, square or triangular shaped or broken planets. But, there are no mistakes in the design of the gigantic universe and it is the proof of the fact that God has created everything!

4. No living organisms including the humans and animals are unnecessary in the world.

5. There is a perfect food chain for each being.

6. When we want to build a house, we plan to make it a perfect one; so, the works are distributed properly to the qualified workers. Similarly, for example, like all the other animals [including the humans] the crow is also a worker in nature! It works as a ‘natural sweeper’ by eating the waste and cleaning the environment. In a word, the crow is created by God so that it can perform its duties properly in the world. This point is similar to the point no. 4 above.

7. If science cannot prove the existence of God, then it does not mean that there is no God. Science is still a child as compared to the forthcoming knowledge that the scientists need search.

8. The scientific explanations about the Big Bang are not absolutely acceptable since science tries to logically guess but cannot be exactly sure about the exact and minute incidents, which took place during that time billions of years ago!

9. The existence of God is a matter of feeling! It is not a formula of algebra that we sit down and prove! If we carefully observe the humans, animals, nature etc., then the existence of God can certainly be felt. Say, I mentioned in one of my Facebook posts that the 4 fingers of our hands are located side by side but one finger, that is, the thumb is much away from other fingers, structurally small and much different compared to other fingers. Now, it would be foolishness to say that the location of the thumb is such by coincidence. God knows it well that if all the fingers in the hands were of same size and structure, then it would be rather difficult or impossible for us to hold anything or do any work! So, He placed the thumb of our hands in the distance. It would be clearer if I explain it in a different way. As the parents become exceedingly cautious about the newly born baby, its spontaneous feeding, walking, talking etc. are carefully monitored by them, likewise, God has given the specific formation, shape and structure to the humans and all the animals by keeping their overall well-being, advantages and easiness in mind! This following theory about the creation of the world seems unacceptable to me [others may believe it but I think it is just like a beautiful story!]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mcC8kFacrk
