barriers

Seamstress

Poems

Split seams untangle the web I weaved

Releasing all the stories untold; havoc soon unfolds.

The walls built over the years, softening my fears

Crumble into ash and dust, all in one single thrust.

Not by violence or force; but by an act of remorse.

Shriveling under the weight of the web, a feeble yelp.

All it took was one word. Help.

Help it seemed was a sign of weakness, almost evil,

How can one ask to put pain on other people?

Now with the walls down, and the light shining in,

Strength is in numbers, we all share the same skin.

These walls weren't protecting, there is no enemy

Instead it was a prison, a trap-mentally.

With the web untangled and the barriers blown by the zephyr,

My fellow seamstresses will help weave this web back- together.

These Walls

These walls were all around me,
stretching far and wide.
These walls were up inside me,
spreading like a blight.
These walls, they kept me away
then there was a light.
I had a friend that would stay
and to this friend I say,
no longer sheltered and afraid,
that I will be there for you
If ever a wall you made.

The barriers between us

electric light in your eyes
vibrant colors blew my mind

the barriers between us wear me thin
like claws in my skin, dug deep in
hiding behind teeth, shielded with a smile
taking my all to breathe
I know i'm stuck here for awhile.

love is like glue
my heart for you
frozen solid in the gap of time
somewhere between the righteous & divine
I fail to reach...
my voice is fading, growing weak
hands are losing grip, holding nothing
you are like a beautiful star in the sky, somewhere up high
lost to my touch
reaching up & getting no where
if I tried to speak would it be too much?

buried in the sand
like every secret
behind a wall
imprisoned inside us

until then i'll wait in this cage
wondering when you will turn the key
when will you set me free..?

trust me when I say it's everlasting..
