Amended version Zoo: Amended version Zoo Haiku When the Cleveland Zoo sent 'excess' animals to Texas for a canned hunt it was not euthanasia nor zoothanasia... it was murder.   When the San Diego Zoo sent primates to UC Davis for research which would kill them, it was not zoothanasia nor euthanasia it was murder.   A lone tiger lying on concrete as human crowds gawk at him gets up and paces back and forth back and forth for hours in his 8 ft by 8 ft cage.   A polar bear in his light attracting white fur coat died of the heat at the Bronx Zoo   A hippo choked to death on a tennis ball thrown into his yawning mouth at the Detroit Zoo Kapir the elephant drowned as the Danube poured into his concrete room 20 feet below ground level.   A Gaza zoo was overrun by Israeli tanks while the animals were in their cages. They were killed or suffered broken backs and necks.   For mercy all night called the zoo's baby bear. He had a tiny cage.. which no bear could bear. * A monkey was beaten to death at the Boise Idaho Zoo * At the Akron Ohio Zoo, Easter bunnies and pet mice brought to the zoo for shelter have been secretively fed to snakes.   Many zoos are under cover vivisection supply houses ... facilitating hidden torture of animals. * Very few zoos protect the animals from psychopathic children and adults who seek to harm them with missiles thrown at them, poison etc.   Orca kills herself rather than be confined   All 'zoothanasia' is murder. * The Copenhagen Zoo killed a giraffe and fed her to lions, and then killed 4 lions, 2 of them cubs. * SYDNEY, Australia (AP) "A 7-year-old boy broke into a popular Outback zoo, fed a string of animals to the resident crocodile and bashed several lizards to death with a rock, the zoo’s director said Friday. "(When children see millions of cows, sheep and kangaroos being murdered, are they taught any different in the Outback?)     Footnote: A canned hunt is a hunt in which animals are fenced in behind for instance a 9 foot chain link fence while men seeking to prove their masculinity shoot at mammals like sitting ducks or fish in a barrel, 2 similes based on the absolute inequity of the massacre.   Thank you to Dick Goddard of Ch 8 Cleveland for having reported on the transaction.   The abcmouse website advertised frequently on PBS promotes the animal slavery of zoos. * Footnote: I http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2013/07/08/130708fa_fact_lepore Jill Lepore re polar bear in the city zoo: “He had the smallest cage you ever saw,” she told me. “All night, he cried.” * III http://www.nairaland.com/1293956/man-jailed-killing-monkey-u.s#15774137 An Idaho man who admitted to breaking into a Boise zoo last year and killing a monkey was sentenced to seven years in prison on Thursday, court records show. Michael W, in March pleaded guilty to attempted grand theft, a felony, and misdemeanor animal cruelty stemming from the break-in and beating death of the monkey at Zoo Boise in November.   IV  Zoos: An Idea Whose Time Has Come and Gone http://www.peta.org/issues/animals-in-entertainment/zoos.aspx   July 8 2013 https://www.facebook.com/TheAnimalLoversArmy   June 2016  Orca kills herself rather than be confined http://www.peta.org.uk/blog/orca-morgan-beaches-lies-motionless-concrete-slab-beside-tiny-pool-loro-parque

What is a consensual reality: What is a consensual reality but an agreed-upon illusion? Enjoyable insight. Thanks!

You did an amazing job: You did an amazing job gathering so much important information. A lot to unpack, but this is certainly worth knowing. I'll take a look at your references.    I wish everyone had your compassion for the millions suffering food insecurity. It does seem insensitive for networks to broadcast as if everything was normal.    As a grandmother who is responsible for supervising my grandson's remote classes, I feel for all the parents who have to make the impossible choice between financial survival and their children's education. These are desperate times. Thanks for caring.

Powerful ideas laid: Powerful ideas laid beautifully and elegantly simple. Enough.  Enough to pierce the reality of illusion  And embrace the power of words constructed  With honesty beyond an agreed truth. Best blessingss x

I really enjoyed your: I really enjoyed your writing. You have skills and untapped talents. However, in order to read what you penned, I had to cut and paste, as well as change the type and font. I’m sure other poets have had the same problem - and then passed you by. It’s your words and typing, but you might consider letting the audience read them without all the hassle. Love pink too, but the trouble to read through the color and font may not be worth the effort to some.

You raise a fair question.: You raise a fair question. But I will offer one, and only one, encouragement. At least until the economic crash this past year, violent crime - particularly murder - has been on a long dive in this country. It seems worse because there is an increase is mass murder events - and also because we get wall to wall coverage for days to weeks on end any time it happens - but there are conversely far less incidents of murder. Don't lose hope in that regard. But also keep pushing for us to reach a higher plane. We have not nearly gotten far enough in this regard. And obviously we have a ton of work to do on other fronts, as well. All the best to you.

lyrycsyntyme commented on: CHILDREN AND ELDERS by joy 5 years 8 weeks ago
It is also important that our: It is also important that our children and elders listen to each other (particularly the children taking in from the elders, mind you, for reasons that I think are obvious). Currently, society via media is not encouraging this. It's detrimental for us to allow this failure to occur. Up until I was in my late teens, it seemed that the culture of gathering around the elders still held some merit. Kids would listen to stories of their grand parents. Probably not like they once did, but it certainly happened. I work with children, and they are mostly dismissive of their grandparents now (the grand parents still seem interested in the children), and the kids mainly seem to want them to serve bowls of cereal while they watch videos on youtube or twitch. It's alarming. And it's not the kids fault. They are too young to understand what they are missing. It's those of us who've heard the stories, who've gained the wisdom, and who have taken on the task of sorting the truths from the biases of a past time that need to step in and say, "hey, sit down and listen. Shut that thing off."

Ah, yes. We are human, but: Ah, yes. We are human, but are raised to be tapeworms, indeed. Tapeworms via messaging from the t/v, tapeworms via messaging at school, tapeworms via, now, the internet. Tapeworms via sports, politics and "the arts publica". Does the cure therefore kill us, as it does the tapeworm? Or is humanity still alive within, and ready to walk free of the outer tapeworm skin?

A lot to explore on "the: A lot to explore on "the canvas". My mom always said that we were made different, both in look and in the creation of the various religious beliefs, to give us a chance to reach a higher plane of thinking and harmony. I can believe that. I am absolutely sure that if we can embrace our diversity, we will reach a place we've yet to as a species.
