Cleves Warsaw

His was a warm world with bare trees,

temporarily exposed by

the branches, in their nudity,

and the unseasoned sun that peaks

between the tottering gray clouds.

He drove through a bulldozed ravine,

condemned to stillness by concrete,

but overgrown in its dull spite.

He was afforded a clear view

into where the denizens dwell;

these wild and four-legged tufts

of matted fur, with big, wet eyes

that go dry when dying, roadside -

only to be granted respite

when cast into the yawning ditch

by modern whirligigs dyed black.

He avoided a porcine corpse

and briefly thought to wish it well,

but if there is no hell for humans,

there must be no rest for the beasts.

And so he continued driving.

Zoo - Just to Amuse You!

One fine day, I planned a visit to zoo
Alone landed amidst the fauna left so few
Treaded merrily on greenery, singing my heart out
Whilst a lion’s scary roar made me shout

‘Ah! Another visitor’, said the lion annoyingly
‘Why should we entertain you?’ said he fumingly
‘What’s the point in wasting your energy and mine?
Making us do the funny acts, do they seem so divine?’

Hearing those words I dared
Reduced the distance, still scared
Said I, ‘Stop fuming King of Jungle, watch out for your age,
Hadn’t I come to visit you, wouldn’t you be bored in your cage?’

‘The answer dwells in your question, silly girl
You humans have no heart of pearls,
The so-called king of jungle imprisoned in cage
Heartthrob of millions I was, at my early age’

‘To meet my family, hope it doesn’t get too late
I need to eagerly meet ‘em all, my cubs, my mate
I still feel them, they are waiting for me
Oh girl! Be kind enough to set me free.’

I couldn’t have done that with all my might
Turned my way, delighted by a peacock’s sight
The multihued beauty was sheltered in a metallic cage
Awe! Gloomy this beauty looked, in distress and rage

‘What is wrong? Do you want to fly?’
It turned around and looked straight at the sky
‘Show me those vibrant feathers, the fan-like crest
Guests would adore seeing you dance at your best’

‘I dance just for my love, my love for rain,
Cool breeze no more likes crossing my lane
Why do I open my feathers without my mate’s presence?
Just to amuse you, I shall do; confined in this fence’

Dumbstruck, I decided to turn my way
Walked ahead in quest of animals happy and gay
There it was! A crazy monkey, flirting and making its choice
Mimicking others and playing around, hear its evil noise

Bouncing, bouncing and dancing, dancing
It ruled as if dungeon’s dominant king
Wow! You look so happy; what’s the reason?
‘Girl! No more fun for you, ‘coz free I’ll be from this prison’.

Two giant men came forward and opened the door
Good Lord! It’ll be free, unkind humans is just animal’s lore!
Monkey screeched, ‘Meet me soon in the nearby forest
Where I meet my pals, play, eat, have fun and rest’

Happy to see the monkey’s joy, I walked ahead
Across the bushes, saw a van, a huge van in red
Giant men carried animals and dumped in the van
Shocked I was to see the sight and reckoned their plan

Why was my monkey friend inside, for what purpose?
It was clear as I read the van’s name, ‘The Great Royal Circus!’

Animals - what they feel looking at you when you look at them with amazement :)

My Latin Darling

Hectic Days
And full nights
In and out, up and down
Those goddamned stairs
You're growing so fast
And soon mommy won't
Be able to carry you anymore
It makes me want to cry
As your legs get longer
And take the stairs two-at-a-time
And you start to sleep through most of the night
But I can still smile at your snores
You will always be my baby.

Been so busy lately, but it's a love-labour, all the way.

If everybody would adopt a pet

When I go to the animal shelter, I wish that I could adopt every pet in the place.
I want to save them from being destroyed because I believe that is a disgrace.
But sadly, I'm unable to adopt all of them.
I can't save them from a fate that may be grim.
I wish that everybody would get involved.
If everybody would adopt a pet, this problem would be solved.

My new cat

Two weeks ago I got a new cat.
She's very pretty and I like that.
A lady at the animal shelter had a big smile on her face.
She was happy because my cat would be living at a new place.

She's solid white and she's sweet.
My cat is very special and unique.
I'm grateful to my cat's mother who bore her.
I love my cat and I wouldn't take a million bucks for her.

The Facets Of Me

Be yourself!

Like a bird
in a tree,
I close my eyes,
feeling free.

Like a bee
buzzing about,
I know that I am
going places.

Like a cat
taking a nap,
I like to sit back
and relax, sometimes.

Like a horse,
running free,
I like to feel the
wind against my face.

Like a dog
staying by its owners,
I am very loyal
to my friends and families.

Like a rabbit
quickly hopping around,
I, sometimes, need to
walk quickly.

Little Chickadee

Children poems?

Little chickadee
I've got a few questions,
just for you!

Little Chickadee,
how high can
you fly?

How high can I fly?
This little chickadee
can fly very high.
Very high in
the great big sky!

Little chickadee,
how do
you sing?

How do I sing?
This little chickadee
and all my friends
sing like "fee-bee-fee-bay"
and also, "chickadee-dee-dee"!

Little chickadee,
hopping on the ground,
what are you looking for?

What am I looking for?
This little chickadee
is searching for food,
for little crumbs
hidden on the ground!

Little chickadee,
it was nice to talk to you,
I hope I see you again
sometime soon!

This little chickadee
has to fly away,
but maybe,
if you sit quietly outside,
me and my friends
will come to visit!

Author's Notes/Comments:

A little poem that sort of came into my head while I was walking to school this morning. Idk if it's any good, so I'd love if you'd comment and let me know what you think. I sort of want it to go into my children's poems book, but idk if it's good enough...

Can't Stop Staring

His meow like a orchestra, so very intriguing,
His fur like snow, oh so white,
His eyes like a mural, ever so captivating.
He struts by as if he knows, knows he's beautiful,
As if he knows, knows there's a sparkle in my eyes.

The way his face is as he dreams, so very peaceful,
The way his tail is as he sleeps, oh so limp,
The way his whiskers bend against the carpet, ever so perfect.
His beauty, simply amazing,
I can't stop staring.

Cat poems

Cats are majestic,
amazing creatures.

They have various
types of bodies.

Some are small.
Some are big.

Some are tame,
and some are wild.

Some will cuddle with you,
and others would rather eat you.

They're mysterious !
