Your spirited words remind me of the way I felt about love and relationships in the past, and that stuff is precious. Some days I can kinda unlock that trove but I admit living on my own for a long time tends to skew that mindset.

Substitute: Conifers for hi-rises, tranquillity for sirens, canada geese gone, gray or sky - I get those confused. City country city, wealth search or shut it out/down. The cities are the woods, open landscapes are brick and steel surrounded, threatened by distance.
Yes. The dilemma of the: Yes. The dilemma of the modern ruling class, in it's quest for absolute power, is that there are many who can write his/herstory now. The dilemma of the modern historian, today's common (wo)man, is that there are, subsequently, many squeegees.
For some reason, and I cannot: For some reason, and I cannot quite explain it, this poem put me in mind of the writings of Ambrose Bierce. I think it was the mention of Twain and then the poignant use of those words "contempt" and "bruised feelings." I also think this poem will comtinue to resonate in my mind.
He's Been At Hand: Since history began. Ready implies control - do this and have bliss in eternity. I want it now, want control and power to fix the earth the controllers destroyed. At hand, the big goodbye and after, valueless void. Interesting message - to subjugate. Been there - not fun.
