You provided a great deal of: You provided a great deal of valuable information in your comment. I would rather not deny potential readings of learning that information. Besides, I greatly savor the prospect of people gaining different things from my writing. I may have been asking a rhetorical question but it pleases me that you may have gleaned a different interpretation. Forgive me but I don't want to deny those potential future readers of your knowledge on historical matters.
I should like to add a couple: I should like to add a couple of other Biblical verrses for your consideration: Genesis 9:3; John 4: 8, 32, 34; Acts 2:46 and 9:19; 1 Corinthians 8:10; Colossians 2:16.
Both one of my students today: Both one of my students today and a storyteller 5000 years ago: "What is this loose leaf paper you speak of?" We go forward to go backwards?
Anyway, that silly musing aside, 1988 is a time I remember, though I was too young to understand what the motions of the world revealed. Your poem is interesting, and I might call it - in my own mind - The Beginning of Today. Humanicide, hmm..yes, indeed. "Give me your huddled masses, that I may more easily wipe them off the face of the planet." The humanity of the green lady, disrobed.
Good suggestion, lady :) I: Good suggestion, lady :) I have a feeling it'll come to me when I refocus and edit/add to this in the future, it's kinda too scattered right now
Haha: I dont know why that made me laugh. Thanks. I needed that. It's so true what the eyes can do.
We have cat dogs. All of them eat dog food and love bellyrubs. The image is our deceased cat Buskitten who we lost last november to a hit and run. We miss her dearly.
Thanks for the chuckle ol' poetic friend.
Yes, the trade off. I grew up: Yes, the trade off. I grew up in one of the most concrete of jungles on the planet. My dad supplemented best he could, planting a peach tree and fruiting bushes in the small yard of our rental, along with roses for my mom and tomatoes for his sandwiches. We were lucky in that our block also contained a few trees. There was a slight scent of nature's presence. That's as close as it got. The geese were eventually killed at the parks there, too. Ironically, per your mention, a massive flock just flew over my head a little while ago. The first such sighting in a couple of months and a sign that winter is either about further deepen or lighten up (as they jump from the smaller to larger lakes, or the reverse, depending on the shift in the season). I think 'deeper' is the hand at play.
Anyway, very poetic, your words. Threatened by the distance, indeed, is the spirit of the city. Threatened by the closeness of mankind's lurking (and perhaps luring?) breathe, is the country.
Are these energy weapons that: Are these energy weapons that torture the soul internet technologies such as social media? Those sure do seem to have the power to damage one emotionally, perhaps irreconcibly in some cases. Or do you speak more literally of direct energy weapons? Those that could, can, and yes, at least in some cases, are cooking bodies, if not the soul. We, as a public, seem largely unaware of what is already in use, against civilians not much different than ourselves. We are asleep in the passenger seat, or perhaps just overwhelmed because there is way too much happening to take in from the scenery. Perhaps, even, a bit of both?
Particularly enjoyable word: Particularly enjoyable word play in the second stanza. To me, it helps set the mood as lighter and is influential towards the notion of acceptance that appears to underline this piece.
This was a pleasant read.: This was a pleasant read. However, being a woman (especially one who appears to love cats) I feel most of what you say is expressed through your eyes. Having studied Iridology for a semester, I was amazed at what information the eyes carry. NOTHING ever witnessed by your eyes is ever forgotten, and remains imprinted on the mind, and within the body. The charts below are only a very small example of what your eyes can reveal. As you are probably well aware, a woman need not speak to a man to say he did something wrong, she only needs to look at him. Those looks can soothe and heal a man, or claw him into pieces.
