Oh well, okay. I was hoping: Oh well, okay. I was hoping for further insight into your rather unique perception of the poem. I can assure you that the actual experience, decades ago, was exquisite
Not sure why exactly, but I: Not sure why exactly, but I spent my whole time reading this poem 'smiling the smile I made a couple of hours ago, still warm in its pocket.' hahaha
Good poem, undermined only : Good poem, undermined only by the "U and I," which looks childish. You are better than that, and writing out "you and I" is not too much to ask of a poem of this quality.
Excellent! The Innkeeper: Excellent! The Innkeeper sold his soul years ago, and is acting out his ultimare damnation while still ahead of it. And, like his spiritual mentor, the devil, he wants others to join him; thus, he imposes his demands upon us. John Milton's characterization of the devil in the epic poem, Paradise Lost, is very timely and appropriate as a guide to the Innkeeper's internal terrain.
Thanks so much for your comment..: Thanks so much for your comment. The idea came from a singer of yesteryear named Anita Hardcok. Check her out on YouTube. Pretty funny. UPDATE! According to reliable sources, Anita Hardcok is not the singer of yesteryear I thought she was. She's an AI creation meant to sound like a singer of yesteryear. Good Lord! I was bamboozled by AI!
