Today I’m grateful for knowing
what native nation people have long professed
That each of us is put here in this time and place
to decide the future of humankind.
Did you think you were put here for something less?
Today I’m grateful for the poet Rumi’s understanding of singing birds
from the largest raven…to the smallest bobolink…
I want to sing like the birds sing…he said
Never worrying about who is hearing me
or worrying about what they think.
Today I’m grateful for having the ability even at my age
(an ability I hope will last untill the day I’m gone)
To dream big,
stay positive
and enjoy every journey I am on.
Today I’m grateful for understanding
the power in the gift of kindness:
Knowing any time we reach for kindness
and are blessed to have achieved it…

perhaps because when it comes to this particular view
