Today I’m grateful for the magical feeling holding hands can bring.
How that simple act can cause your face to smile
your skin to tingle
and your heart to sing….
And what’s even more amazing…even better yet…
is how that feeling never goes away…
no matter how old you get.
Today I’m grateful I have a voice
and that I know how to use it too…
That I am well aware what a voice filled with
kindness
compassion
caring
and love can do.
Today I’m grateful for the knowledge…the ability to understand
that I don’t need money or anyone’s permission
to build a castle in the sand.
Today I’m grateful for imagination…and for the wisdom of Albert Einstein…
Whose knowledge and imagination were truly grand…
Who said knowledge is limited to only what we know and understand….
Who reminded us how imagination can take us to unknown worlds and unknown lands
embracing entire universes and all there ever will be…
to know and understand.
Today I’m grateful for our house…
and how…while watching our children grow
and through its yard and hallways roam…
somewhere along the way
this house became our home.
Today I’m grateful for shoulders…
I have been blessed to have stood on my ancestors shoulders…
Blessed the way our lives have intertwined….
And I hope someday my children and grandchildren will feel blessed
to have stood on top of mine.
Today I’m grateful for a better understanding of what a hero is:
for 72 years life has been my teacher
And she has taught me a hero
is anyone determined to make this world a better place
for every living creature.
Today I’m grateful for music and for Plato
to his words I often cling :
Music, he said, gives soul to the universe
Wings to the mind
Flight to the imagination
And life to everything…
Today I’m grateful for understanding the importance of time
For it is my belief…my contention….
That whenever our children need it…
we should find the time
to give them our undivided attention.
