Jesus Christ

WITH MY FLESH, I WRESTLE

With my flesh, I wrestle.

For it is most hostile

to mine spiritual growth.

My desires, I loathe!

Yet, in weak moments, I

so easily give in.

Lord, I sincerely cry

out, confessing my sin.

Lord, I sincerely cry

out in repentance.

Lord, strengthen my resistance

against this wicked temptation.

Lord, with my flesh, I wrestle.

OH, HOW HIS HUMILITY SHOWS

Folder:
Christmas songs

VERSE 1:

D                           A

It was just another quiet night

A7                          G

we were simply just watching our sheep.

G                          A

There was nothing unusual in sight.

A7                                      G

My brother might have been half asleep

A

Suddenly, we felt a strange wind

D

And there, before us, stood an angel

G                                     A

Shivers, down my spine, it did send

G                           Em7

And upon our faces, we surely fell.

A

Then

CHORUS:

A

We heard the heavenly cryer

D                          A

as he spoke of the Messiah.

A7                                  A

For, unto you, this day in Bethlehem

E7                    A

is born a savior. You will find Him

D

wrapped in swaddling clothes

A                        D

lying in a manger, in a lowly manger.

A                          D

Oh, how His humility shows!

VERSE 2:

Suddenly, there was with the angel

a multitude of Heavenly Hosts

praising God. Grace, their song did foretell.

Then, suddenly abandoned, were their posts

we were all alone, once again.

We rushed to the town of Bethlehem

searching for the One God did send.

We surely had to find Him.

'Cuz

(REPEAT CHORUS)

VERSE 3:

We found the child and His virgin mother

along with Joseph in a stable

There has never been another

Child such as this. He is truly able

To bring salvation to all who

to all who believe on Him.

In our hearts, we know this is true.

Our faith will never grow dim.

'Cuz

(REPEAT CHORUS 3 Xs)

Author's Notes/Comments:

Our Savior came into this world as a humble child, born in the most humble circumstances and demostrated humility throughout His entire earthly life.  He was God made manifest in the flesh, yet He humbled himself in every way.  Then in the ultimate act of Humility, He freely gave His life for our sins and rose again on the third day, defeating sin and death for all time.  He offers grace, salvation, and eternal life to all who will humble themselves and accept the free gift He offers.  Let us not forget the greatest gift ever given was when God sent His only Begotten Son to die for our sins.

“Father, forgive them”

To impart, to us, His holy grace;

He prayed, “Father, forgive them.”

So let us glorify His name.

IN YOUR PRESENCE AGAIN

Folder:
Songs

Capo 1

VERSE 1:

D

Lately, it seems

A

I no longer feel the beams

Em7       G

of joy shining in my heart.

Gma7                  G

I don't claim to be very smart,

D

but maybe it's 'cuz I've

D                  G

neglected our daily conversations.

D

Maybe, it's 'cuz I so easily give

A                    G

into these temptations.

Em7                     G

Maybe, It's 'cuz of unrepented sins.

D                          A

All I know is I miss the intimacy

Em7                   G

I once had, Lord, with Thee.

CHORUS:

G

May I kneel in

C

Your presence again.

D

To know Your peace.

G

May my devotion

C

to You never ever cease.

G

May I kneel in

D

Your presence again.

VERSE 2:

Father, forgive me!

Lord, hear my humble plea!

Help me turn form my sin.

Help me resist temptation

May Your grace be alive

In the heart of this repentant sinner.

May, into Your word, I dive.

Swim like a minnow (pronounced minner—think southern)

In Your grace. Be my defender

in this battle I daily face.

Lord, show me Your grace!

GRACE SO HOLY AND DIVINE

Lord, thank You for Thine

grace, so holy and devine.

Thank You for cleansing mine

feeble heart. Oh your genuine

love has grafted me onto the vine.

OH Your salvation, so amazingly fine,

has granted eternal life to mine

humble little soul, forever Thine

I shall always be. You are kind

oh so merciful and kind

to me. May my will always align

to Yours, my Lord Devine.

May Your light always shine

in this humble life of mine.

May the Glory be truly Thine.
