Candy Apple

Candy Apple

By Karyn Indursky

You're my candy apple.
I want to bite into you for a taste
of trickling, sweet, tender juice.
I want to lick that sweet tender juice
with the tip of my tongue to let my senses
go haywire as I do when I let my gaze fall upon you.
I want to sink my teeth into your tender skin
to feel you beneath me for a taste of torment.
I want to smell myself sweat as my body heats up
from the arousal you bring my senses every time
I stumble across your humble being. I want to
touch, feel, taste, and see you as the apple
of my eye as I bite you for an eternal
taste of your being.
Be my candy apple.

Canvas Captured Daydreams (abstract)

Karyn Indursky

Upon a stool he sits
caressing canvas with his
delicate brush. Colors come
alive with every detail
he adds. Unicorns fly above
the lake where a jungle
green speckled sea monster
has nothing, but legs coming
out of its mouth. Fairies are
perched in trees while roses
of assorted colors bloom.
Butterflies soar in creamy
skies with dragonflies decorating
a wondrous horizon. Blue violet,
red-orange, dingy white tips
of fire splatter parts of the
image. Sage green eyes smile
after he has given texture
to his creatures until they
are fully alive. Fresh citrus
air dries his beloved painting
and encases his work in glass.

Author's Notes/Comments:

The fire splattering this painting is symbolism of society burning away creativity and imagination amongst individuals.

Write me a sonnet with thine eyes showing

me what thou heart beats and blends crafty lines
until rose bud lyrics start their growing
as your lips start to sing notes on a vine...

working delicately to harmonize
thy emotions into each vocal cord
adding beauty, depth and simonizing
poetic imagery to catch your sword...

of slaying thy grammar and spelling mistakes
until perfection slips onto paper
dancing booties start to shimmer and shake
celebrating while words are capering...

So long as thy morning dawn shines brightly
sentimental value shall be held tight.

Along came a kangaroo
who hopped into my eyes
to snitch my laughter.

Along came a squirrel
who ran up my leg
to swipe my inspiration.

Along came a fox
who scampered into my hair
to sneak my motivation.

Along came a mouse
who tickled my skin
to bite my muse.

Along came a puppy
who licked my face
to care.

Along came a grasshopper
who climbed my hand
to calm my spirit.

Along came a praying-mantis
who landed on my arm
to restore my humor.

Along came a kitten
who purred for me

Along came a lizard

Carnival repentance

An unfolding of crisp corners of wheat

Through a glance of insight

All is permitted to be just right

Oooh

Harmonies of soul flow in

Beautiful, like a scent that's risen after raining.

Inspired to go back to perception of innocence.

Loose fingers twiddle at the texture of my face.

Water drips off my brow as my eyes rise to see themself

And a new spectrum of doubt is dealt.

A deep breath is indulged to know that I breathe

A slap to the face is given to remember I receive.

Twiddle lee dee, what do I see

Red moons rising, a crazy defeat

Ghouls of slim length

Very large hate

Tirades of foul misdemeanor

Everyone today grows even meaner

I seek repentance, For gods sake

Time to demolish ouselves and walk through grace gates

Cashiering

By Karyn Indursky

Behind the register I stand,
meeting demand after demand.
It's robotic...
greet the customer, scan the products, bag,
put the bag(s) in the cart, take their money,
tell them how to run their card,
check their card, remind them what's needed for a check,
etc., and then one transaction's over.
Next.
It runs fast and vigorous until it's time
for that price check, UPC number, SKU number, carry
out, etc.
Time runs rapidly, making the customers antsy
and there goes their tempers as if it's my fault
or something. I'm in charge of myself, their order, etc.,
but I don't control my coworkers and managers.
By the end of the day, I'm more than willing to go
home, but what makes me come back are those few
nice customers, who remind me it's not so bad to be
cashiering.

Cassandra's Compromise

Cassandra's Compromise

Karyn Indursky

Once upon a time
Princess Cassandra was
a poetic author
who whittled inspiration...

She gained haters
from being published,
advertisers running commercials,
and insecure, jealous audiences.

Growing flustered and frustrated,
Princess Cassandra went on strike,
told people to kiss her ivory white ass,
stop being selfish, mean, insensitive
and leave her the hell alone.

Princess Cassandra's friends, family, fans
weren't happy for they
saw her poetry as a blessing,
cherished her muse,
beamed with pride of her accomplishments,
and didn't want her giving up
her poetry for Anyone.

Negotiations transpired and Princess Cassandra
decided to let the rhythms of her muse
flow down her black inked paper,
but slowed down on adding, sharing, and exploring poetry.

Cathartic Liberation

Here comes the downer,
The falling from my pedestal,
Smashing my knees on the impact of the fall.
Thought I was so high and untouchable,
Now I’m a worm crawling across the floor.

Chewing at my skin to find the feeling,
Self-preservation in a tightly-wound cocoon.
Hollow on the inside,
The scream is nothing but a sigh,
Trying to hide the pain,
But this heart is shared and isn’t all mine to have.

A face painted with beauty that has no ego,
Is a watercolour that blurs in my mind.
I reach out and touch perfection,
It dissolves in ripples by my own hand.

Here comes the upper,
The muscle tightens as I run on scarred limbs.
High on my cathartic liberation,
For the first time my reflection meets my gaze.
Burning the pedestal,
There’s more to myself than my selfish needs,
So much to live for,
Time has an infinite story.

I search to find the limit to my own evolution,
Hindsight comes with the regret of being too slow.

even if it means we say goodbye

should change be called beautiful

despite its destructive tendencies

its power to destroy all that once was

and logically speaking

does this make destruction a beautiful change

A present enemy

Lie in the eyes of a girl

Best friends come whole

Composed of trueness

But she deteriorated to

A part of deceit

A part lies

2 parts cheating

3 parts disguise

It was the perfect occurrence

For a typical high school lie

Immature acts of deviance

Took a picture to a jigsaw

Too many pieces to forge together

Neither rhyme nor reason to this improbable chaos

To be or not to be?

Charming's Demise

Charming's Demise

Charming's Demise
Karyn Indursky
August 2012

Once upon a time Prince Charming
held Princess Pearl hostage
in a dungeon...

Prince Charming found
the Princess beautiful,
but what he truly sought
was her fame and fortune.

Her father, King Diamond, sent
his army to attack Prince Charming,
but it was to no avail.

Prince Charming had his own warriors,
who used their swords
to defeat them.

King Diamond wasn't about to give
up on saving Princess Pearl.

He wrote a telegram
and sent a messenger
to try to barter
for the return of his daughter.

Prince Charming wasn't having it.
He wanted a wife, crown, and gold.
Screw compromising!

A nobleman was sent
to find a pastor
to marry Princess Pearl and Prince Charming.

Princess Pearl was in tears.
She wanted true love,
not a gold-digging, greedy, selfish husband.

The pastor arrived on a horse
with a knight holding
him captive.

Under the moonlit sky
the pastor read the vows
and Princess Pearl
only had to shutter, "I do,"
when all of a sudden
there was a commotion.

Prince Aladdin took out all
of Prince Charming's
guards, warriors, and spies.

Prince Charming was coerced
to fight Prince Aladdin himself
and lost miserably.

Princess Pearl threw her arms
around Prince Aladdin's neck
and with the power of true love
fireworks went off with their kiss.

Chasing Time

Memories are fading,

Remember your smile.

Please tell me you remember mine,

What is lost is not forgotten,

I cherish every moment we were both alive.

Seems natural my heart became an icicle cavern,

No man should be told not to feel,

Or compromise.

Lack of passion and driven insanity,

Intoxicated with desire,

An empty bottle filled with the pretence of ego,

Swallowed with pride; still room left to breathe.

Haunting memory of a smile almost forgotten,

Here with me, teach me your intoxicating poison:

The drip is an overflow of promises to keep,

I never kept them; do you shower me with shame?

The irrelevance I feel,

The impudent, lonesome warrior;

We fought, so I became the fighter,

Limbs become weak in the absence of shelter.

If we could go back in time,

Chasing the same dreams,

Are we still the same aspiration,

Or masked fallacy?

thankful being brought together today

showering us with blessings everywhere,

but put on display in a special way

where the musical sounds of laughter start

with humming conversations playing catch up

as children play their games with loving hearts

drinking cherry cider in plastic cups

and the dog chases the cat 'round the room

until they find the table to play tag,

but Mom isn't laughing grabbing a broom

to squat them away and clean up with rags

Shall thy feasts waft their alluring fingers

new memories will be made and linger.

I have a few questions, which I need and want addressed.
\I want to know who decided tickling, horsing around,
laughing, and other things classify someone as being
childish and stupid.
\I want to know...
why having fun has to be a bad thing in certain
people's eyes and opinion.
\I want to know...
why having fun, unleashing energy, loosing tension,
removing stress, etc. is shunned when people tell others
to lighten up, take a chill pill, take a joke, etc.
\I want to know...
why people believe they're btter than others by what
they do, don't do, say, and don't say.
\I want to know...
when "All men are created equal." was removed
from our lives.
\I want to know...
how childish and stupid can even be used in the same
sentence, considering children aren't stupid.

of your hand in my hand as we fled from your house

played like children in the sandbox and we swang on the swings

climbed all over the fortress, and then hid inside at sundown

layed out on top gazing at natures big up

lost in the beauty of stars, we map out constellations

and arm in arm on the moonlit dance home

oath for oath, promise for promise

broke your heart, now it shatters mine

it lays here, waiting for another piece

it lays here, but youre gone

Mommy got a baby from the doctor.
The car's at the doctor's.
I pulled the cat's tail.
I wear pull ups.
Turtles are on my underwear.
Daddy's pants fell down.
Mommy has a wedgie.

Be my delicious treat i
in a tasty graham cracker crust
with toppings more savory
than fresh black cherries
that make my insides
wail for more.

Make my stomach lurch
forward to grab more food
before my ivory hands
can reach for more
and bite into you,
my beloved desert of
chocolate and peanut butter cheesecake.

Chocolate Cricket

Chocolate Cricket

Little Miss Muffet sat a pineapple upside down cake

along came The Joker finding her taking a cat nap

he took her cake and replaced it with a fake

and when she woke it, it was with a start

her fingers began to snap

to the beat of her farts.

The Joker found this funny

and Little Miss Muffet turned a soft pink

while he counted his money

for he had sold tickets

to embarass poor Little Miss Muffet

and so she made him eat a chocolate cricket.

Skittles were flying
and Little Miss Muffet
stole the prism of light.

Along came Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
with his shining red knob of a nose
to guide her to gold.

The leprechaun was
a bitter, greedy little creature,
who tried to give her mold.

Rapunzel got angry...
Rudolph got Santa...
Santa turned the leprechaun into an elf...

But the Grinch found out

Chocolate Delights

Chocolate Delights
Karyn Indursky
August 2012

Once upon a time
in the Land Of Ground Coffee Perspectives
there lived Princess Scarlet.

She was trapped
in a dungeon
made of sirloin steak.

Her vampire sharp teeth
chomped their best
to eat her way through,
but she got full.

Along came Prince Eats A Lot
and he was starving
for steak.

He ate with adventitious
and in no time
Princess Scarlet was free.

Instead of returning her gratitude
with a hug or kiss
she decided to sink her fangs
into his neck
for a Gypsy Rose Martini.

Princess Scarlet had a sister,
who had always secretly
had a crush on Prince Eats A Lot.

Anger rippled through Princess Of Dove,
who tackled a sourcerer
to steal his wand.

She turned Princess Scarlet
into a dark chocolate cheesecake
and licked her cocoa chocolate fingertips.

On Princess Scarlet's
throne she sat with
a twisted smile upon
her chocolate espresso lips.

To her surprise the Dark Chocolate Knight
showed up for revenge
since he had always intended
to bewed Princess Scarlet.

He had slain the wicked witch...
Slaughtered the fire-breathing dragon...
and overthrown King Knows-It-All.

With a sizzling smile
in his smoky gray eyes
he took her wand
and turned her into
his Chocolate Delights.

He sat in the Crimpson thrown
with his feet up on the recliner
and drank a wine glass full
of Gypsy Red Wine.

Religion never fades
Or vanishes
When Christians unit
To share
Verses, hymns, guidance
Not merely from the Bible,
But also life experiences.

Throughout our lives
We take the opportunities
To pass on lessons
Amongst our children
For they will carry
His legacies
Into the next generation.

The next generation
Will only prevail
If they accept God
And continue our paths
Towards enlightenment.

God bless!!!

Blessed are we to share dark chocolate days

where presents are exchanged with loving hugs

wrapping people with Hershey Kiss sashays

sweeter than velvet words painted on mug

Gracious are we to share vanilla days

covered swirls of milky chocolate slither

down into red cherry syrup ways

to making our sweet tooth daydreams quiver

Christmas Tins filled with Caramel Popcorn

and Sugar Cookies made with fine butter

Home made gift baskets of nuts with acorns

 oatmeal cookies made of peanutbutter

Christmas Festivities

Christmas Festivities

Christmas Festivities
Karyn Indursky 12/9/08

Children shriek with glee,
helping decorate the Christmas tree.
Chocolate chip cookies entice
hungry eyes devouring crumbs
before the mice arrive for their feast.
Shoes bring in snow footprints
and muddy carpet,
but when you look outside
to see snowmen or children playing
it's worth the scrubbing, vacuuming.
Mistletoes tease awaiting strangers
to share in a Christmas hug
or winter's butterfly kisses.
Nestled in balls beneath your tree
lies your cat
wondering what the fuss is over,
but a simple look at their owners
calms their humble nature
until they decide to play
with your ornaments
with swatting paws
and kitty-cat nibbles.
Puppies play hippity-hop
in the snow
like bunnies
and you can't help, but
giggle at life's small moments.
Carolers sing in loud booming voices
not to annoy the neighbors,
but to share the Christmas spirit within
begging to encourage you to join.
Decorations brighten our lives
reminding us of tradition
and how much love we have
to express not only for ourselves,
but also love and our Creator.
When Christmas arrives
our children's eyes will
beam with delight
for we have given the gift of Christ
with symbolic presents
not for materialistic gain,
but out of love.

lying under trees when it matters not
if they're homemade or store bought
for the have special meaning
decorated for all of us to visually see
in bags, boxes, bow ties, and more
as we know what we mean to everyone and thing
as our eyes glimmer and outstretched hands beg
to catch towering boxes saying,
"Please, be for me!"

Presents spread around the big Christmas tree

Mr.Claus must have been here this year

Ash foot prints from the chimney led to thee

as I peeked Santa was nibbling thy ear

underneath the mistletoe is where i

found thee kissing Mr. Claus and blushing

pretty shades of pink with escaping sighs

fingertips gently trailed diction rushing

Christmas stories galore and songs swaying

to the beat of poetry snapping meters

sounding the drums as elf's enjoy playing

and reindeer are munching cookie eaters

Presents spread around and Christmas was here

O' Santa Claus was sure busy this year

Christmas Spirit

Christmas Spirit

Karyn Indursky

If you want to see Christmas spirit,
look to children.

You'll see hearts pure and true.
Eyes that are still honest and caring.
Ears that remember every little thing.
Little hands that want to help wrap, pick out gifts, etc.
Smiles bigger than you can imagine over a mere "Thank you."
A precious giggle when you tickled their delicate sides.
Arms that want to reach out to you, hug you, help you, and so much more.
Adorable little dances when they get just what they wanted or know a "really big secret."

Christmas spirit isn't bought for them.
It's just something they possess
because they are pure, innocent, and so very sweet.

Saint Nick was coming near for Christmas Eve

was quieter than a mouse in your house

putting candy canes on trees with gifts to heave

he was caught beneath mistletoe by spouse

Like Rudolph's nose Saint Nick's cheeks did blush bright

they rode skies of children's dreams upon a sleigh

guiding their way everywhere that dark night

chocolate chip cookies kept hunger at bay

Chorus' of Christmas carolers lit skies

for this holy night of Jesus Christ to

be celebrated in our midnight flies

of elf's guiding the reigns this special hue

So long as we believe in God hearts

place a butterfly kiss on our

securely into our comforters.
Together we snuggle by the tree

Churned Love Affair

July 2012

Once upon a time
Donald duck wanted
a date with Daisy.

She looked so pretty
in her dress and her
eyes sparkled like crystals.

Goofy tried to help
Donald by sending flowers,
but Minnie received them instead.

Minnie went to Donald's
with her pink dress
and new shoes.

Donald thought Minnie
was Daisy when he
answered the door.

Minnie had hearts in her eyes
and planted a big kiss
on Donald's cheek.

Donald was in shock,
hit her with a sock,
and Minnie fed him a rock.

Daisy heard bees buzzing
about their kiss
and was pissed.

She drove her car
to their house
with Micky Mouse.

Micky Mouse was mad
for everyone knows,
he loves Minnie.

Seeing Minnie's lipstick stains
on Donald's cheek
set their jealousy ablaze.

In their irrationality,
they decided to
churn them into ice cream.

Cinderella

Cinderella

Karyn Indursky

Clipped rubber black hair
rests upon her ivory spring
matte jersey dress boldly slit
high up on nude stocking
legs in gathered material
to accent sheer elegance
at her cocktail party
before she sneaks out
of the back to
walk around outside in
appreciation of blossoming flowers
smelling lovely like her skin
when her two-inch heel
gets caught in an unseen
sprinkler hole and masculine
hands find themselves helping
this ravishing damsel by
unstrapping her crisscrossed shoe
carefully before setting her
foot upon his tuxedo
pants while he expertly
removes her shoe without
getting a scratch on
it before slowly slipping
her foot into it
for clasping it beneath
four leaf clover eyes
smiling at his chivalrous
manner heating her body
like a warm sunrise
alerting her senses the
more he touches her
soul with his blushing
gentleman lips daring to
taste her painted full
mouth as realizing he
has found his modern
Cinderella.

CIVIL DEATH-SOCIAL MURDER

Legal Bullies.

Civil Deaths.

Social Murders.

Is that your best?

You can hold hostage,

all that I embrace to my chest?

Which you have done!

You can brutalize me.

Which you have thrice done!

You can criminally imprison me.

Which you have done!

You can proclaim your slander upon high.

Which you have done!

You can kill me.

Which you are trying to do.

But,

You shall never.

Never!

Ever,

break me!

Though your `` UNCLEAN HANDS``

has no bounds.

I travel a path of enlightenment,

casting off desires of the flesh,

passing trough the void,

and entering a boundless universe.

Unfolding my spiritual wings,

to soar,

beyond your six walled prison

of concrete and cinderblocks.

You can steal all my worldly possessions,

and ram sack my treasure-chest.

Which you have been doing!

But,

you cannot take,

what I don`t have.

You cannot kill,

what you have murdered seven folds.

With a ``STRANGE FRUIT``

obsession burning,

you will come to know,

yet do I live.

I am still living.

For

I am alive with vitality.

Twas once upon a morning day clock
of their friendship was moving with delight
they met at a coffeshop down the block
and their senses were loving all the sights

The smell of jasmine wafted in the air
there were so many desserts to choose from
then all they could do was hunger and stare
as they poked the glaze doughnuts with their thumbs

Dove dreamt of milkyway bars topped with cream
Poetrywings dreamt of a peach smoothie
But alas all they could do was just dream
As their friendship did entwine so smoothly

So Dove all she drank was a cup of tea

Climbing Inside Perfection

Falling whispers float like butterflies across cherished skin,
Curtains raise and fall in smooth, fluid motion.
In that moment I know you're still breathing my name,
Across oceans draped in stars,
Sky pours crescent sunsets into the Earth's horizon.

A shudder misplaced as the breeze,
Unknown spider fingerprints delicately sweeping across my naked skin,
Through the candlelit window a ghost nurses me to sleep,
A parallel distortion of one who feels dead inside.

A victim timid and shy,
Unaware of the sharpness of his fangs.
Laying naked upon the bed sheets,
Giving his body to the ghosts and the stars,
Turning butterfly wings into black rose petals,
Climbing inside perfection.

Afraid of myself

Of what I can do

An indian a tear of a world so polluted.

Regained compassion now I'm trying to dilute it.

My heart was a rock everybody then loved me

My heart softened up now they think I'm not worth it.

My spirit is great my thoughts will nurture it true.

Until my spirit replaces me and decides what to do.

Closer to the sun

The white lights in the sky are ignited at night

They swim in my eyes

They resonate with life...

Waves of energy pass this dense mocabre soul

Where sculptures of history indirectly point to a show

An essence fills the sheet of the sky

The weight sinks it down to our mouths

As we gasp for rehydration of it's plentiful light

Is it real?

    These complications

                           of which I speak.

                                            In the distance.

Is there a source of life

                                                                                        which leaks?

We are on the brink of jumping into a magnitude of suffering

                       I lie..

                     I cheat..

And for what I ask?

I demand! Tell me!                         I can't even stand myself

The howling winds bellow inside of my dome

Sometimes it feels ignorance is all I have ever known.

                                                  ....................................

What darkness more must we endure?

                                                          The simple way of life

                                                                    Has been

                                                                    Obscured

We take truth in folklore not in the story teller

Writing releases but a minisucle of my confusion

The rings of jupitor shoot the moon

Our hearts widen at the sight of communion

                                          And shuts when it passes

For our tendencies return with it's whip

                                              And oh, how it lashes

But it's Fiction, I am lost in my depictions. The wolves sing with instinction

And where is ours?

For I know we are good

But we lack trust. Our beliefs instruct us

It feels it's all we've known.....

But they couldn't exist without the MAIN ingredient

                                                        You know?

My religon isn't different asside from where it has ended

My problems aren't different asside from where they have driffted

Deep into the ocean where the sound is surpressed is a pressure that battles my chest

Similar to the thoughts that battle my conscience

The softness of outerspace

Resonates

with my innerspace

                                          Speaking as one

                                         There's hope for us yet

                                         That has long ago begun

                                         It may be baby steps.....

                                         But's it's baby steps......

Clutter

Clutter

By Karyn Indursky

You clutter my mind with confusion.
I can't even begin to know where to start shifting
the garbage you filled my head and heart with.
I don't know where to dispose of it, either.
I don't know a way to organize it because there's just too much.
Your clutter oozes out of my head onto my hand
to my computer to my paper to my book to my mouth
to my tears to the unrelenting pain you brought onto me.
I just want to get through all of it and get rid of
your clutter.

Serve me a slice
Of gratitude
Slavered with sprinkled
Words of kindness
Like thank you
Or you’re welcome.

Bring me a piece
Of appreciation
Delivered on silverware
Where my utensils
Are your  realizations
Define favors and responsibility.

Dish me a scoop
Of toppings
Heaping with offerings
Of things you can help
Me with like
Hugs, listening ears, and unconditional love.

Spread me a napkin
Of dismissals
For if you choose
Not to meet my requirements
You fend for yourself
And eat alone.

Cold Milk Skin

My dreams no longer hold me,
As they are a mere distraction.
Alcohol and cigarettes taint the pure shell I waxed around my brain.
Never did I think I would be standing here now,
Between dying trees and disturbed forests,
Aching for you to find me.

Past Satan's throne you may follow,
Beyond graffiti names and memories on stone walls.
Walking, searching, constantly through the maze -
To lose myself,
To leave Him behind.
I failed;
For this I am sorry, love,
As I place another stone above the dead body.
I cry for yesterday.

Rubble and underground chambers forgotten over the years,
A light which flickers dimly in the dark.
Messages whispered in long corridors;
I am lonely and need your touch.
Remaining unheard, I scream over static,
To be buried in debris at the force of my pain.

In this cemetery ground,
Beyond the forest of my invisible trails,
Is the man waiting to love his never-to-be.
In this cemetery ground,
Beyond the forest of my invisible trails,
I await my everything.

Colder Than Death

Colder Than Death

Karyn Indursky

Murky eyes brim
with tears of remorse
at not knowing the man
lying in the casket
as more than a grandfather
now paled and stiff as a board
when opportunities knocked at
her closed emotional door
while she ignored each one
to be with someone else
or do something else
than bond with a man
colder than death.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this for my grandfathers, Sigmund Lutterschmidt and John Indursky, who passed away this year. May God bless them as much as they did my life and others.

this morning my mouth is an ice machine

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem isn't about the creatures. It's about children spreading there creativity, fantasies, dreams, daydreams from page to page. It's about how they're not limited, restrained, burdened by society's ideas of what's right and wrong, whether it's about coloring inside the lines or things only being one color or way. It's about the freedom they possess to be themselves because they aren't tainted by conformity...yet. It's about that they're brave enough to share their differences and not be afraid, intimated, bullied. It's about the right to express ourselves and not be slammed for it. It's about letting the magic of our souls flow instead of hiding there glittering lights because of our community, media, publicity. It's about not being frightened to show what lies inside.

Comfort One Another

Comfort One Another

Karyn Indursky

I dream
of wonderful
feelings, things.
I pray
there will
not only be
a tomorrow,
but something
more promising
than today.
I pray
I not only learn
my lessons
from today,
but apply them
to my future.
I pray
I can take
the knowledge
gained today
to collaborate with
the knowledge
of yesterday to
create wisdom
for tomorrow
and the rest
of my future.
I pray
I am not
the only one
dreaming, fantasizing, yearning
for this, but
that there are
others seeking
guidance from
God,
family,
friends,
whoever or whatever
they believe in, too.
I pray
with all of
our prayers
that somehow we
become one
shining spirit
collaborating with God
and this world
to make
a loving, forgiving,
accepting tomorrow.
I pray
we don't ever
lose our faith
to our
insecurities,
sins,
stubbornness.
I pray
we can look
at each other
as brothers and sisters
instead of
strangers, stranglers,
murders, sinners,
villains, etc.
I pray
we see
each other through
God's loving eyes
instead of our
hurt painted images.
I pray
we can find
this faith
within and without
ourselves
to gain
a serenity of love.
I pray
we can be
who God
intends for us
to be,
but can do it
in our own
separate, individualized
ways.
I pray
we can be
one shining star
in the illuminating
sky of
wonder, dreams, fantasies.
I pray
we all can
be together again
in heaven.
I pray
we can be
leaders of the heart,
not just the mind
in these
times of bewilderment.
I pray
we can be
inspired by
one another
and our love
of God
to get past
ourselves to
comfort one another.

CONFIDANT

Hello my confidant,
my twin spirit,
my sweet delicious lady.

I know your pain.
I feel your hurt.

The implementation of the damage is different,
but the principle is the same.

At your lowest and
most vulnerable point,
when you needed someone,
you felt a knife in your back.

When a little understanding and
empathy is all you needed.

My most beloved,
the truth is assaulting your heart.

You were robbed!!

Forced to fight a two front war.
Pushed in making the wises of choices.
You chose with no error or regret.

My dearest,
you played your unchosen hand,
the only possible way you could.

The permutation was limited,
to a zero sum game.

You sustained much damage,
which jailed you in your present position.

Though separated by mountains,
yet I found you.

Though separated by time,
our spirit has met,
on the 9th day
in the 9th month,

and in the 12th year.

You deserve company!
Recognize that a man stands before you.

He is knocking on your door.
It is your onus,
your blame for being so “damn” gorgeous.

Release the key,
set yourself free,

and open your cage.

What is it you desire my dearest.
You set your table before me.
With all manner of exotic fruits.

It overflows with your womanly treasures,
well packaged

and nobly presented.

Shall I pick a star apple?
Pluck a mango from off the top?

I know you my kindred spirit.
with our souls activated.
Your body well prepared.

I except your privilege prize.
I seal your kindness with a tender kiss.

But forgive me my lovely lady
for nurturing your permission,
and devouring your passion.
So I may “calm the beast within”, and
be willingly bound at your table.

Rest.
Relax,
then release.

Cry if you have to!
Break the dam and
release your tears.

Empty your reservoir  of pain.
Then travel the world with me,
for a 7 Month cruise,
on the 7th day,
for the 7th hour.

You deserve it.
Take hold of it.
Claim it,
for have earned it.

This is your restitution,
and rightly so.

Your happiness is well deserved.
I need you.

I don’t know why?
However,
it is not because of impure thoughts or
naughty desires.

I just know I need you.
Hopefully you need me too,
for the simple reason that you do.

Confusion Eating Us

Confusion Eating Us

Karyn Indursky

People wonder why
others don't speak
while those individuals
don't fathom why
there's a need
to fill air
with hollow words
and yet answers
cease an existence
in a world
full of chaotic
confusion eating us.

Conner at 4 months (Haiku)

Karyn Indursky

Growing like a weed.
He's wearing 6 to 9 months.
Over 13 pounds.

Quickly learning things.
Rolling all the way over.
Cooing all the time.

Eats rice cereal.
Conner likes his stage 1 fruits.
Trying vegetables.

Drinking 6 ounces.
Likes to play with the nipple.
Small hands try to help.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Written about and for my son, Conner Michael Indursky. For the record, Conner weighs 13 pounds 6 ounces fully naked. He was weighed today when he went to the doctors. He has a virus. He's taking Pediacare and will be drinking Lactose Free Similac Advance with Iron. Upon getting better, we can go back to regular formula. Sorry that this comment is long, but I thought I should update you on my son.

Sprouted seeds of

Seeds of love
Flourished into
Fears, frustrations, and pride.

Pride overtakes me
Every time Conner
Uses the potty.

The potty flushes
Down remnants of
Aggravation.

Aggravation becomes extinct
When my son
Hugs, kisses, snuggles.

Conner Meets Leaves

Conner Meets Leaves
Karyn Indursky

I took Conner outside, walked him all around the house, and then walked him to where my mom was working  on the side of the shed. I let him walk over to her. He was kicking at the leaves and dirt. Then, he bent down and was trying to tickle the leaves while he was saying his version of "tickle." It's not a new word, but it was funny to watch him trying to tickle leaves. Of course I took him inside to wipe off his hands with the wipes before he got any ideas of sticking his dirty fingers into his mouth.

Karyn Indursky

My mom and I taught Conner how to do snappers today. We took the snappers out of the box and poured them onto the pavement. I told Conner to stomp on them like he's puddle stomping, but that didn't work too good. So, then I told Conner to step on them like he's dancing. Now, that got him going and before long he had stomped on them all. He was smiling and laughing and having a good time.

Conner Story on 3/13/08

Conner Story on 3/13/08

Karyn Indursky

Conner is on a learning new words kick again. He said, "Shoe" for me yesterday 3 or 4 times, but didn't say it after. But this morning I got his shoes and asked him, "What's this?" And to this he told me, "Shoe." He also is trying to say the word, "Naked." He only tries to say this word when we are getting him naked for his bath and tell him he has to be naked to get a bath. He's also trying to say, "Sit," but it sounds like "Shit." So, we're working with him to speak more clearly. I know he means sit because of when he says it. Plus, we don't curse around him a lot. We make a huge effort to watch our language around him, especially since he is learning to talk and we don't want him repeating rubbish. Of course no one is perfect and there is a slip of the tongue from time to time. When that happens one of tells the other about language and typically that's enough to cease the slip up.

Conner Went "Swimming" 06/10/08

Karyn Indursky

My Mom and I took Conner in the pool today. It was his first time in this year. He loved it! We had him splashing the water with his hands, kicking his feet, and playing "Dunk Mommy." I don't know if he was laughing harder or if we were. He definitely enjoyed himself in the pool. When he wasn't smiling he was laughing and giggling with that deep from the belly sound. It was wonderful. I can't wait to take him in again. Putting suntan lotion on his is not a problem either. He loves when I squirt it on him and rub it in. He sits there laughing and attempts to rub it in himself. I don't let him touch it because I'm afraid he'll stick his fingers in his mouth after touching the lotion, but it sure is comical to watch him try. Looks like I got myself a little water rat just like I was when I was a kid. If I remember correctly Greg loved the pool too. So, I'm hoping he'll continue to want to go swimming and will be a very good swimmer before I know it. I'll keep working with him with my Mom and I'm sure it won't be long until he's swimming, literally.

Conner's Diction 3/13/08

Conner's Diction 3/13/08

Karyn Indursky

Almost every kid goes through the phase where they sound like they're saying, "Shit" instead of "Sit." I"m not really that concerned or worried about it. I work on his pronounciation, but there's only so much I can do and if he doesn't say it now he will one day anyway. Whether he learns it from my tongue slipping or my mom's or guests that come over or TV or a movie or on the bus or whatever he will learn it. It's just a matter of when and where. I'd love to be able to protect him from the world and it's imperfections like coldsear infectionspink eye, vulgar language, etc., but in all honesty we don't live in a perfect world with a perfect society and we never will. So, he's just going to have to learn to accept the world and people for who and what they are and learn that there is a time and place for everything.

Conner said his first sentence on Saturday, 04/12/08. I was dressing him for the day, but he was fighting me. I told him, "Get back here. I'm not done with you. You still have to get your shirt on." (It was his Bob the Builder long sleeved shirt.) He looked at me with his big blue eyes and told me, "No, Mommy." Normally, he'll just tell me, "No." So, basically, he's not even 18 months old yet and he's starting to put words together to form sentences.

Conner's My Salvation

Conner's My Salvation

Conner's My Salvation
09/03/08
by Karyn Indursky

When life crumbles
and you feel
like you're about to be eaten
alive as though you're a marinated steak
being fed to a ferocious lion
with the salivating mouth,
look to your child,
who is your savior
with his big beautiful blue eyes
smiling at you
with more unconditional love
than anyone else can offer
while he runs to you
with his outstretched arms
telling you, "Mommy"
with his gorgeous smile
radiating all his love
from the inside out
realize God has blessed
with the greatest gift of all...
your child
and you have been saved
by not only God,
but the love of your
beloved son.

When your life wilts
like a dying rose
with the beauty of
dark crimson red
and looking wondrous
as someone has deliberately
plucked you from
your habitant
to enjoy your magnificent value
of giving joy
to all those who encounter you
don't be sad
because the end of your destination
has set itself before you,
but rejoice because you've touched
someone on the inside
where their essence blooms
into God's wondrous gardens
and no one appreciates you more
than your child,
who you adore you
from the beginning
until the very end
of your blessed journey provided
by God
and welcomed by your son.

When your life spoils
like a container of milk
don't cry because of
what you lost,
but smile because
without you
your child wouldn't have
healthy teeth and bones
to grow into a
cherished, intelligent, fun-loving
man handcrafted by God,
but grew inside of your womb
for you to be consumed
by unconditional love at first sight
and that child you delivered
loves you more than anyone
without restrictions, rules, ridicules
because at the end of the day
you are his mother,
who he reaches for
with his arms,
but loves with all his heart.

When your life smiles
from the beginning of your existence
to the end
after you have accomplished your goals
and conquered obstacles along the way
don't weep over what you won't experience,
but thank God
for all those treasures you received
along the way
and everything you were able to
share with your son.

Conner started using his potty chair for the first time on 08/23/08. He told Pappy that he had to go "Wee Wee" and was holding himself. Since I was working at that time (12:40) my mom put him on his potty chair and yes he went pee on it. When I got home I continued the training and got him to use it 2 more times. I did get him to go potty on it again this morning.

Contact Turmoil 2/27/07

Contact Turmoil 2/27/07

    Karyn Indursky

When I tried on my new contacts my eyes wouldn't focus, everything was blurry, gave me a splitting migraine. I had tried for about 5 to 10 minutes and nothing was improving. I called them to find out what was going on and all I got was lip service. The person on the phone wanted to know if I put my contacts in the right eye, which I had. Had I tried them on before leaving the store they would know that I had done it correctly and had seen for themselves that there was a problem. After getting irritated by associates trying to blame me for something that's not even remotely my fault, I got a consultation on Mon. morning. I told them that if they couldn't take me on Mon I'd return the contacts, they could refund my money, and reimburse my insurance. After waiting almost 3 weeks for this script to arrive, the last thing I wanted was to try on contacts they aren't helping me or deal with associates being inconsiderate. I would rather go somewhere when I cannot only afford, but also where I feel valued as not only a customer, but also as a person. However, I can't change what happened here, but I will try to prevent the next person from dealing with this treatment.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Since it's not weather permitting I won't return my contacts today, but will get done at my first opportunity.

Cornered

Cornered

By Karyn Indursky

Solitude seeks me.
Everyone gives me plentiful reasons to take it.
Pressure traps me all the time.
\Inner walls were built early on in life.
They still protect me.
When cracks start, I know.
\Points in being numb have high ranking.
Vulnerability is a massive concern.
Confrontations don't stop the process.
\Being outgoing is holding me back.
Trying to expand social horizons is a flaw.
The real answer i solitude.
\Hypocritical people judge me constantly.
They actually believe they know me, but most don't.
Merely knowing minor details doesn't make them experts.
\The more I try to get out of the solitude,
the more people shove me back into it.
Joking around is supposed to be fun, yet they ruin it everyday.
Being an individual poses harder all the time
when solitude along with people have me cornered.

giggling erupts voluminously

lost in the

Could Dreams Possibly Save My Soul?

my head is always lost among the clouds

but with a life like this, could you blame me

everything so close

yet always far enough

for me to constantly

just fall short of the makr

my mind is always wandering

because if i tied it down id never be able

to stop the tears

silence the cries

find something i love

a reason to live through this

my soul is always weighted down

and despite all my attempts

will be for the rest of time

Could I Have You?

Could I have you?

Karyn Indursky

If I wanted to stay in your arms forever,
would it be so bad?
If I wanted your heat to ease my bleeding heart,
would it be so tragic?
If I wanted your lips to kiss away my tears,
would it bring you pain?
If I wanted to melt against you,
would you consent?
If I wanted to sink into your lap,
would you break?
If I wanted to nestle my head on your shoulder,
would you turn away?
If I wanted your arms around me,
would you oblige?
If I wanted your heart to let me in,
could you take the chance?
If I all I needed was you,
could I have you?

Count Dracula (abstract)

Count Dracula (abstract)

Eyes widen in fright
as fangs sink in
to take a bite
out of softly ripened flesh
dripping with juicy blood
for shadow eyes to glow
eternally when shrieking cries
turn into hungry growls
at smelling someone lurking
within reach of becoming
Count Dracula.

Count Dracula's Date

July 2012

Once up a time
Count Dracula wanted
a date...

He tried to sweet talk
Princess Arial by pointing
our her beauty.

At first, Princess Arial fell
for his chocolate cavity compliments
and the gentle caress of his hand.

His words melted
her racing heart
and attraction rippled in her eyes.

However, Medusa was slutting it
in a black lace dress
and her silver high heels.

Count Dracula was
nothing more than
a male whore.

Princess Arial was
fed up of his
lying, cheating, deceitful ways.

She had a bag
of pink fairy prixie dust
and sprinkled upon them
until Medusa and Count Dracula
turned into bats.

Counting Poetry Lane

Counting Poetry Lane

Karyn Indursky written with Dove

Shall I count the reasons poems are lovely
where ideas are seeds growing like fresh plants
Opportunities like doves, fly smoothly
In skies of imaginations they chant

Shall I use my fingers or toes to count
how many ways words express true freedom
singing from the hearts of writers we count
The musical meters like beating drums?

Shall I count flowers for petals to see
how to use a poetic license now?
Enchanted quill ink personality
Shakespeare's inspirations words we do sow.

So long as thy day grows with white roses

thou cheeks will blush like bright reddened noses.

Couples Make Me Sick

a couple just walked by, so tied, hand in hand

but where they cleverly lead us on and away

in the way that they put on a pathetic play

that none of us want to see, but will anyway

to brag and boast of a perfection, correct me if must

of which in love, by definition, does not exist

think of how they will mess around in games that leave a mess

and turn around and pick one of few ways to break away

think of who will be used, who could be hurt in which way

think of how one will feel when all is said and done

think and if something feels wrong

focus on that something until its nothing

then think about it again

are you sick yet?

does that couple make you want to lose lunch yet?

i know i wont keep much substance down for a weeks

yet im the lucky, blessed, unpoisoned one

that is unless i walk hand in hand in disguise with someone too

Will she stop lying? I don't know so I walked away now I look for true love yes I look to marry. The devil tricked me but Jesus saved me now I'm embodied. The holy spirit a stronger man and still I'm a target. Fighting satan in my head but everynow and then my father speaks and fills me with courage. Gives me the energy that's needed to continue working. Some think I'm crazy and indirectly speak to offend me. I see right through you if I throw it to you won't learn the lesson. I am a trend setter I have to be on my best behavior. Holy mary the one who shines the heavenly nature. Our love will shine the new wine and I'll sing the song of the saviour.

Crimson

Love is like tear stained roses,

Dipped into blood,

As if that weren't enought,

She's thinking thoughts of suicide,

Wanting her knight in shining armor,

Realizing the armor was just a disguise,

Lifting up the mask,

Finally seeing his soul is black inside,

Not caring her tears are made of blood,

He just disappears,

Leaving her with a knife in her hand,

People always say,

Crimson looks good on her,

She doesn't want him,

Its the need,

Longing for him,

Praying he will be on the other side,

Whispering if not tell him good-bye.

In this life
there are many
crossings we make...
some are together,
but others we must
take alone.
No matter what
happens though
that one true person,
who helps us from heaven,
is always there.
No sound isn't always
audible, but, yes,
there are loving sensations
sent forth to let us know
that we are not alone and
can do things
even when
they feel
improbable

Cruise For Two

Cruise For Two

Cruise For Two
Karyn Indursky
August 2012

Once upon a time Princess Jasmine
was walking through Yellow Stone park
with her picnic blanket.

Upon an emerald blanket
she sat in her blue paisley dress
and opened her basket-full
of lemon morang pie, hogies, and a banana split.

Yogi Bear's nose went biserk.
He stole the Ranger's bike
and took off.

Princess Jasmine was
nibbling her banana split
when Yogi Bear swiped her food.

Scared, Princess Jasmine screamed.
Prince Robinhoood leapt from a vine
and swept her into his arms
before the blanket toppled
into the waterfalls.

They landed on the ground
where he gently rubbed her arms
and calmed her fears.

He gave her a pack of
peanut butter crackers
to adjust her sugar.

In his water bottle
he had milk
and she swallowed it like a fish.

Jasmine's eyes met Robinhood's
smile until he brushed a stray hair
off her ivory skin
to kiss her sweet, luscious lips.

Her arms went around his neck...
His arms held her to his chest...
and romance began to humm.

When Jasmine and Robinhood
went back to the house
they were holding hands,
sharing casual conversations, and falling in love.

Yogi still didn't intend to refund
the food and Robinhood didn't
want her to be hungry.

So, he snatched the basket,
restocked the food, and took her on
a romantic cruise.

and I'll give you

Crumble upon me
when you feel weak
and I'll help you
let out all of your
feelings, thoughts, desires, dreams,
and all that completes.

Crumble upon me
and I'll put you back together
with all the old pieces, including the new
because I care, love, cherish you
as my friend and will continue to

to be near
where are you?
split already...

my heart crushes
at your lack of response
I think I've frightened you
must've been something I said
I know what it is.
I know...
I know...
I'm scared.
couldn't you just wait a little longer?
I want to share with you.
there's something important you must know.
My life is in transition.
It's just a little tough to finish.

Cupid's Catastrophe

Cupid's Catastrophe

Cupid's Catastrophe
Karyn Indursky
September 2012

Once upon a time
Cupid got a dirty diaper
and left his bow and arrow unattended...

The Grinch had his binoculars in hand
for the perfect time to swipe
his love arrows.

For on his list was Barbie
because her personality was like her body,
fake and made of plastic.

Barbie would've fell for Ken,
but Ken was a jock
who pissed off the Grinch,
who couldn't get a touchdown
to save his freakin' life
and for revenge he made Barbie
dance in love with Rambo.

Next on the Grinch's list
was Chloe, a Cheerleader,
who were way too perky and friendly
for his liking.

For no one's that happy
and for his chocolate-coated revenge
he made her love an ogre.

Smiling his devious grin
he shot Princess Tia in her
buttocks next.

She was too dainty
and he wanted a tomboy
kind-of gal.

So, he took his shot
at Tia and hit her
with a sinister laugh.

Tia was coerced to
fall in love with
with Al Capone.

Aphrodite was babysitting Cupid
and took him back to find
the bow and arrows,
but the havoc was brewing.

Cupid followed the trail
of broken-hearts with his bucket
to collect their tears
and with his tender touch
he began to heal them.

Aphrodite was mad as can be.
How dare the Grinch interfere with love?!
And to steal from a baby?!?!

With a snap of her Goddess fingers,
the Grinch was punished to
granting wishes for sincere happiness, love, and happily-ever-after's
and there was NOTHING
the mean, cruel, manipulative, conniving Grinch hated more,
but in the end justice was served.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Insight for the character selection: The grinch is the opposite of santa who has a list of who's been nice and wants to share merriment. Hence I chose him to be the "villain." Cupid is the one is supposed to be in charge of helping people find true love and Aphrodite is to babysit Cupid, make sure love runs smooth, and things go without a hitch. There'd be no story without without a hitch though and gave the fairy-tale my special twist. Hope you enjoy my tale.

I've found another jester toying
relentlessly at my expense
for guys care not of

thou heart with a gentle caress on skin

as rejection finds breaking hearts to clutch,

but finding friend support a little thin.

Blossoming buds of opportunities dry

moistened eyes and finding green stemmed strength

nestling in rouge connections trying

helping thou persevere and shorten hug length.

Growing out of fertilized brown ground roots

Cut into your freedom

Tears of weight droop down with a slow nature, like molasses they cover my mind

Fatigue is my motivation and challenge my ammunition

Turning to the sky with my head tilted high, a gesture that no longer provides relief

Any such superficial movement now sends to grief, and quickly it arrives

Like an orange moon that hangs in the night sky, seemingly larger than the night before

An emotion is born and glides through the hue of integrity and promise

Soaring, the wings of climate trail a rush of wind, it blows through our hair and grazes the skin

Shivers enter from my spine to my lips as my knowledge is quick to snap it's whip

Survival is a monument that we must not dare let free for what more important to live

Even if you are to live in a dream, a bad dream, is survival really the key

From the clouds to my toes like my readiness to hope, an expansive confusion that only seems to grow

What fever has become from this tow, I climb up high to find new lows

A robot she called me, an inexplicable reason that I refrain from speech

Misunderstood, as my patience turns weak

There's no sympathy and I do not seek it

I wallow isolated in vines which I slice with a machete

                                   Forever to not be defeated

Cutting Through Acid

Cutting Through Acid

Karyn Indursky

If you were Davy Crockett
I'd stick you in my pocket
to give you shelter
from the pelleting rain
soaking through my fabric
as my long blonde hair
covers you with care
and my Nike sneakers
stomp through muddy puddles
with our inner child's laughter
cutting through acid.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I was thinking about my poetic friend, David Richardson and couldn't help writing this piece. I hope you find it as funny as I do. Otherwise, use a plunger to pull out whatever's stuck up your behind.

Cutting vs. Your Happiness

I could cut every part of my body
with a razor blade right now
And watch as my blood runs down my body
When i engrave cuts into my skin
But I'm not going to because I know
You're here to help make the pain go away
Here to make me feel so much better than I usually do

Author's Notes:

Dagger Of Depression

Dagger Of Depression

By Karyn Indursky

Freedom is no longer a resident
when your throat is sliced
for your meaningless life to end
in your unworthy attempt to breathe
after your pathetic blood drips onto
the carpeted floor until you've ruined it
like everything else in life with people
having to clean up another one of your messes
that of course you're too ignorant to fix
today, tomorrow, and forever because you were
born unwanted and you will die mercilessly
when the blade finished beheading you
with the dagger of depression.

Dagger Of Second String

On the school wall
hangs a listing
of who's good enough
to play the game
and who's not qualified
to do more than
warm wooden benches
with supporting cheers
for their privileged teammates
while growing resentful
of this bitter irony
twisting into their
guts with the antagonizing
dagger of second string.

Dance Without Me
by Karyn Indursky
Written for Candace Weis

Slip on your ruby slippers
for dancing in a royal purple twilight
in your picturesque autumn leaf
dress fitting your child baring hips
that are rhythmically moving
to jazz music and your children
are dancing slowly in growing up
for hearty feasts of dancing alone
as they spread golden eagle wings
to fly bravely in life's journey.

Springing into laughter.
Shuffling into trust.
Spinning into hugs.
Twisting into smiles.

Swinging into sisterhood.
Sashaying into brotherhood.
Waltzing into cultures.
Tapping into memories.

Swaying into spirits.
Stepping into souls.
Floating into minds.
Singing into hearts.

Touching tones.
Feeling rhythms.
Measuring acceptance.
Dances of friendships.

Dancing in Darkness

place your hands in mine

we'll two step into tragedy

a terror filled tango in the dark

a hesitant waltz in the black night

step-two-three, along the roofs edge

step-two-three, straight to hell

its a long way down

dance this suicide dance

dance to these despair songs

wrap your shadow hands around my waist

place your cold head on my cold shoulder

sway back and forth, left to right

side to side, into this winter night

dance this suicide dance

dance to these despair songs

dance off the edge

with me

Darkness presents a stage
as brandy hair rebelliously
flies in rhythm with her

creamy flesh while she
cuts every ribbon free
of restriction and bluebird
eyes sing wildly
from within until it's
belted from her peach

randavou of her beloved
dancing in the street.

Dancing Into Romance

Dancing Into Romance

Karyn Indursky

Upon a bar stool
sits a slender woman
with shaking peridot hands
as she deliberately drinks
away all tainted memories
of her life while
long curls of hyacinth
drift down her fuchsia
blouse with tiny rhinestone
buttons smiling below her
fully ripened grapefruit breasted
cleavage while hugging her
sleek curves more tenderly
than her black diamond
leather miniskirt encasing her
long legs unwilling to
uncross even though relaxation
has slowly taken over
and she no longer
cares about life's misgivings
as her Capri blue
eyes light with renewed
courage to bid her
final sayonara to dwelling
in misery right before
a bartender whisks her
leather strapped high heeled
feet to ovation for
dancing into romance.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wanted to show how love can find someone even when that person isn't looking for it and is engaging in a potentially dangerous activity.

strums beats of love.

From solemn cheeks

tears flow down

broken-hearted faces

yearning to be

hugged, held, listened to, cared for.

From blue eyed emotions

our hearts connect

and slowly we slow dance

with wondrous guardian angels

filling our spirits with faith.

Dancing With Memories

Dancing With Memories

Karyn Indursky

Linen fabric hugs
tender curves gliding
across the emerald
dance floor with
her gloved arms
around his neck
while resting boiling
egg yolk curls
against his steel
body once again
for slowing dancing
underneath elegant chandeliers
catching his shamrock
eyes smiling lovingly
down upon his
beloved wife carrying
his soon to
be son hid
securely beneath her
murky blue eyes
shimmering with freshwater
tears trailing gracefully
down her wedding
ring worn sacredly
on her sterling
silver necklace as
silently she vows
never to love
another again when
their wedding song
fades as she
opens her recently
heartbroken eyes and
realizes she is
dancing with memories.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this while listening to the song played at my deceased cousin's, Anthony Romig's, funeral in 1998 on the radio today. May he rest in peace and know he's still loved, remembered, wanted.

Dangerous Worlds

I dream about dangerous worlds
Dark knights who come to save my life
sweep me up
and take me to their castle

tired of this dungeon
it stinks in here
and all I ever feel is fear

I hear his voice
but I have no choice
for my arms are bound

Oh dark knight, kill the queen
she only brings me misery

I dream of you on this dark night
praying you'll survive the fight

actually, I don't want her to die
I love the queen
She raised me right

I follow her
I'm on my knees
praising her...

While yearning for thee
longing for thine lips to touch mine...
and take me on a journey
to ecstasy...

Oh lord, Please
set me free
don't want to be enslaved
I need to be free
to love
to lust
to open my wings
and fly up above

Oh, dark night
you beckon me
I hear your calls
I feel your cries
I see you out there
hunting for me
and I'm here in this cell
wondering when
I'll be out of this hell

I need a get out of jail free card.
Can't you get me one?

Oh dark knight
I'll keep you in my dreams tonight
and dance with you until morning light.

Dangling Opportunities

Dangling Opportunities

Karyn Indursky

Upon a cliff stands
a young woman watching
stars sprinkle down on
her snow white dress
wrapping tightly around her
petal soft skin while
curls of stardust blows
in the humming winds
singing her sweet blues
song before her caterpillar
green eyes are awed
by nature's shooting star
right as she wishes
mystically upon it when
secretly fearing it's
in sheer vain
that she has suddenly
she realizes power
lies not amongst the night's
astronomy when she can control
her own fate by
opening her frightened palms to catch
dangling opportunities.

Day and night

In every way I'll tell you, not just the way I was raised, I cannot tell a lie of all their discipline to rule with an iron fist, cool for those that follow not for virgins in the after or cowards killing a crowd of people moving about, extremist working for iblis, evil is what that is, they want to get as many sacrificed a devils feast we need peace in the middle east, pray to the east? You want truth well then here it is, pray for the east, don't be fooled when you hear the beast say it's belief, you know evil exists, those who look for blood find exactly what they seek, violence begets violence for your sake I rest in peace, I've done seen enough and still more I have to read, elevate knowledge in all children we all are still learning, focus on the blessing and not on the fact were haunted, I lead a life full of pleasure and vice, full of betrayals and strife, full of love and hate like a cat chasing mice, I cannot complain, everything that happened has happened cause of the actions I made, all the times I got hurt and all the times I got laid, shine like the sun I'm a hero in the shade, selfish, wasted all by myself, heaven is heaven I must save those from hell, I sought help from my conscious, had to separate myself in two cause my hate is a monster but I'm a guardian angel, like back in philly with a hat trying to keep you from danger, pick up the needles from the street and I break them, save the kids from infection, stand by the door on the train anybody that's in need and I helped them, HQ was in the hospital but it should have been the college of temple, instead of pills I'll practice meditation.

Daydreaming of a Former Home

the boy sits, runs a hand through his long dark hair

listening to the music that reminds him of the homeland

he buries his face in his hands and cries softly

thinking to himself how things will never be the same

the smell of the salt water in the harbour

the sight of the thick morning fog

the small fishing boats loaded up with lobster traps

he hates seafood, but its a part of life

in his small town by the sea

streets lined up and down with irish pubs

a dozen voices singing sailor songs

a dozen people drink their cares away

the boy now sits on his couch at home

with a bottle pressed against his lips, he lets out an empty sigh

he stares off into nowhereland, gazing off into space

closes his eyes, and in his mind, to home he runs away

Daydreams For 2 Sonnet

Droplets of rain came running the way down
a white chocolate dove enjoying flights
through coffee filtered skies falling dark brown
brownie dripping vanilla mint delights

cherry red cardinals were flying high
into strawberry smoothie stars hiding
until the moment strikes to devour pie
made out of peanut butter trains riding

into ice cream cravings daydreams today
and licking lips slap shut when eyes open
to see nothing sets before their buffet
but the cup is full of drool reopened

so long as there are imaginative dreams
people shall always daydream to bursting seems

Dear Jon.

Dear Jon,
Here I am stowing my feelings away on digital paper,
So unsure,
I don’t want to move, I don’t want to think,
Just run fast, run far away, until another sort of pain overwhelms me.
If I can’t think, I can’t hurt.
If I can’t hurt, I can’t feel.
If I can’t feel the pain, maybe then I have a chance at smiling.
Where did I go?
I lost myself between Wednesday and Thursday,
Between June and July,
The waters have risen as time has passed by.
Diving into the depths that lie beneath is a calculated risk that could lead to a breakdown.
Emotionless, yet so full of feeling,
I’ve hit a fork in the road, but both paths are blocked.
Maybe I’m only destined to raise myself up or become knocked down.
Lingering on the middle ground for a little too long,

Shackled in chains
with no air to breathe
as my head falls

from this excruciating pain
brought from you
killing me with your

until I'm lying
upon the gritty gravel
at your feet
begging for forgiveness
without receiving any
and I collapse
into a pile of...

Deep Within (01/29/02)

Karyn Indursky

Deep within
the shadows of soul
lies a guide
of what's to be.
They unknowingly
choose their paths
to take and sometimes
never see
how it came to be.
They forget
to count their lucky stars,
praise the Lord,
thank their angels,
evaluate themselves,
and so much more.
If they would only
acknowledge that guide
that stems from
faith, love, religion, acceptance, etc.,
they'd be wiser and more grateful.
They need to
refocus on what's deep within.

Deeply eternal

My heart is the guide that speaks only but truth
even when I don't listen
even when I cry for help
My heart is yours, and yours is mine
it can't be shared
It's a universal I

Can you see, that you are free?
Can you feel that love being?
Oh it's seen, beyond anything you can think to think

How glorious existence, how incredible it is
Only through resistance, can you pretend to dismiss

Take a plunge into the deep eternal ever so near
let yourself go then your self steer

Delightfully Strange

Today has been different

It feels so unlived

For the first time in awhile

Something was shoved into the hole

That dug so deep into my heart

A day of delightful distractions

Has cheered my mind up

But this will not last long

Temporary permanence

Distractions dissolved

Like ice

Melting my heart away

It crawls back slowly

Like the icy breath of winter

At least I know

That for a day

These delightful distractions

Strangely enough

Were my temporary fix.
