As always, you achieve so: As always, you achieve so much in your preferred, condensed style of penning. It is the fleshy body, mostly, that cries for it's poverty. And the spirit/soul or mind, if you will that cheers for it's own wealth. But will power and perseverence only come from the latter's wealth, all while needed physical relief is brought on by the former. Woe to one whose perseverence is attached to the physical, for a mere earthquake can change all that in a moment, and tears will wash it away.
Your effective grotesque: Your effective grotesque metaphors are a real signature of this poem, and of how much passion the mourned writer inspired in you. No need, I would say, for the latter portion of your poem. To simply sing of the merits of the achieved writer and his apparent imprint on the world is more than enough to swat away any potential bad-faithed digs at him. The latter portion, I would argue, draws attention to a subject perhaps not worthy of such attention. All the best :)
One of my favorite books, as: One of my favorite books, as well. Left a profound imprint on me when I was young. I am bad with names, so initially upon reading this peom I did not realize the author was one and the same.
Hmm, to put it this way: If: Hmm, to put it this way: If the smell of the incense is rewarding, only good can come from lighting it. You can decide later what you truly lit it for.
I love the sentiments, and am: I love the sentiments, and am grateful, at least, to have lived in a slither of time where many of us could leave our disagreements at the door and realize that between and beyond the conflict there were still many endearing traits to be exchanged.
I learned a valuable lesson: I learned a valuable lesson in 1976, when I first wanted to be a poet. In a mini series about the life of that French lady who wrote novels under the name of George Sand, her lover, the poet Alfred de Musset, talked about spending all day smoking opium and drinking champaigne, to write one line of poetry; then said, "George stays up all night, drinks three cups of coffee, and writes one fifth of a novel." A lot of wannabes could learn a few lessons from the novelist once characterized as "that awful Sand woman."
my drawings never got tacked: my drawings never got tacked to the fridge. Usually I just got a "that's nice" and they placed the drawing on the table. thanks for reading and commenting.
Too many people that read the: Too many people that read the biography of Jim Morrison came away with the notion that taking drugs and acting like an asshole would transform them into poets. You can take drugs and act like an asshole and still be a poet but there is a lot of discipline and endeavor involved.
cannabis seeds contain no THC: cannabis seeds contain no THC so they really don't increase the potency in any way. They really only add a little to the flavor.
