My soul still aches for you

In the little moments

Here or there

Small towns with quiet wind through trees

Indie folk music lulling through my laptop’s speakers

Waves crashing upon rocks on the shores of my mind missing yours

You know those moments when all I can do is just be 100% honest with myself and see what’s really at the pit of the parts I wish were less dark than they are

The black holes of the heart you just ignore because anything that even so much as dares to go near them gets sucked in and consumed by the ‘what could have been’ of a man who left so hard and fast the dust will never settle, it just accumulates in the sky, forming constellations and solar systems

Stars which light the darkest loves of my life so I can see them from what they are

Hallow

Desperate attempts to be something I am not for the sake of fitting into a world that makes no sense without you

Desperation

The honest, truthful pit of us that I am afraid to see almost as much as I fear that it is all you see

And if I am honest

Hold nothing back and type the words that come to my mind as they form letter by letter into meaning

Then my fingers want nothing more than to press hard upon the keys “my soul aches for you” and click send

Just in case we’re both constellations
