Moonlight Sonata

Folder:
Family

In the tranquility of my dreams,

That carry me without a choice,

I float above the red fires of hell,

To touch the tips of angels' wings.

In the tranquility of my dreams,

I waltz with sylphs adorned in white frost,

Quick, quick, slow, quick, quick, slow,to and fro

Beneath the diamond studded trees.

In the tranquility of my dreams,

I frolic with sirens in the sea,

Float with dolphins in guilded coral,

As Neptune summons me to come home.

In the tranquility of my dreams,

Where nothing is right or what it seems,

I yield to the possibilities,

That these joys are now my reality.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is in memory of my mother who passed peacefully from life in her sleep a long time ago. Her last thoughts, I am sure were this beautiful.

very beautiful

To soar above the burning pain of loss

and to remain intact

To waltz with sylphs, adorned in white frost

floating – light as air

amid diamond studded trees – glistening in the heavens

It is quite the image to behold.

A very beautiful one.

And a very lovely tribute – to your mom.

And I read it, while listening to the sonata

Amy:
This poem is a visionary dream!!!!! The love that just pours like soothing mountain spring water is so so so beautiful to vision and experience. You talent of taking the reader to another time and place to experience the breathtaking beauty you so vividly describe is simply awesome. The picture you paint in this mastery poem is finest as any artist can brush or sculpture. Thank you Amy for letting me experience the love and beauty of this very touching poem. Please take care and have a very beautiful night.

Another masterpiece by you. Your images and emotions are raw to the point of me feeling your pricked blood trickling upon the pillars of your hell before you gain back your courage to defend yourself to all that threatening you and winning back what's meant to be yours...freedom, happiness, love, tranquility, etc. Great write as always.

I have returned to this touching masterpiece...to relive the sentimental lines and bittersweet theme. Your mama should really be proud of u...Smilesz, I am. Once again, your idea is simply poetic - of linking a famous sonata (whose theme is of quiet tranquility over the gloss of moonlight) to the farewell of a beloved one. In awe, i stand....as always. :)

This is so beautifully expressed! I am reminded of watching my daughter choreograph kindergarten and first grade ballet classes...such dreams in their eyes! Thank you for writing your sweet dreams so we too can dance and "touch the tips of angel wings". Deborah

Quatrain stanzas that defines Amy's rhythmic heart so searching and meaningful in life explicates that soulful yearning and goodwill within this powerful poem: "Moonlight Sonata"! But then, it is Amy's balladic use of the anaphora that empowers the breath of this poem - these moving rhetorical lines: "In the tranquility of my dreams...". Within the soul of "Moonlight Sonata", I see an uplifting longing that mingles with the binding blood of a departed one to give hopeful dreams for the living: Just listen to Amy, in the folowing lines, which for me sets the tone and beauty of this benumbing "Moonlight Sonata: "In the tranquility of my dreams, I frolic with sirens in the sea, Float with dolphins in guilded coral, As Neptune summons me to come." These are disarming lines of overwhelming imagery. And indeed, may humanity, with Amy: "...yield to the possibilities That these joys are now..." her reality! A hopefulness of the human spirit rests within the tranquil soul of "MOONLIGHT SONATA"! Ugonna

Mamamia! Amy this is such an enrapturing and inspiringly captivating poetic dance of the soul. It flows with William Wordsworth "powerful emotions recollected in tranquility". I've got to go now. But I'll certainly be back to give a deservedly critical analysis of "Moonlight Sonata". This is just my prologue, Amy! Ugonna

Wowo...a most touching piece, Amy. A sense of tranquility and bliss is felt throughout the work....i especially like the waltz with sylphs in white frost.. the feeling of finality...sweet and not painful....the feeling of going home....in peace and comeliness...U portray it so well here, Amy...A wonderful tribute to your Mama, she is blessed with such a child like u, and U are blessed with such a lovely Mama. Smilesz... nice title too....though i initially thought it was for /about Beethoff (beethoven)...hehe.
