I was just born,

bearly two weeks ago.

My wish is to see the world,

as my little body grows.



But I have a problem,

I was born with a heart defect.

One I can't ignore,

and especially can't neglect.



My heart beats really fast,

with the medicine that I take.

Can You See Through My Eyes,

for God's sake?



So all that I ask,

is that you pray for me.

So that when I get big,

it will be the world I see.

Author's Notes/Comments: 

I wrote this poem from my feelings that I had at the time little baby Erick was in the hospital. His mom was and still is my best friend--Yolanda Del Rio. As soon as he was born that's where he stayed was the hospital.
He was born with only half of his heart developed, and needed alot of medication to help him survive, but soon there after we had learned that there was no cure for what little Erick had. Soon thereafter he passed away, and went to the greatest world of all, "Heaven" .. So you see everyone who prayed for him to see the world, well it came true, he got to see the greatest world of all, God's World! Thank You for your prayers!

Always a sadness when a child dies. it is like the loss of purity, for in a sense it truly is.
Yet a grief greater than the words is displayed here. A mother who carried and bore the child, sacrificing the long months to full term, seeing the beauty, and then losing it all to something beyond human help.
She must have needed a friend like you in that time. ~Tim
