Too big to hide

in beetle bored bamboo

was the sweet and

frugivorous

captive baboon.



But through the

bamboo woodwinds

breeze

played for her

the rarest symphony.



(to M Lakin..many decades animal rights activist who

fasted for B43, a baboon kept confined in a chair for several

months.. she slept in the chair.. had bodily functions in

the chair..her legs slowly became paralyzed there)

(B43 was the objectification name given her by 'scientists'.)

(Helen Blavatsky described in the 19th Century 60 foot high bamboo groves in which beetles had bored holes of various

lengths.. so that when the wind blew there was a natural symphony)

Walking by a crucified

family's divided lots

left by the evicting landlord

on the curb by the parking lot

(they had left town the neighbor said

unlike the Biblical Wife of Lot),



I spied your poetry anthology

.. and took it home.

The agony of the evicted led to

my inspiration..

and one more star in your crown

including that the jewel of courage

you have shown us all

since you left the White House.



Spare my city, Father Mother God,

and all cities with well oiled

eviction machines, with young men

desperate enough to answer the bribes

of the war regime.
