Moving Forward

Moving forward

A foreign land though familiar territory

Welcoming smiles on alien faces

Approached with verdant enthusiasm

Another delightful city, suggest the traces.

Vain attempts at oblivion

Wouldn’t erase the indelible memories

Of times spent in the chastity of good old friendship

Gratifying company divesting teenage worries.

Wondering if it’s abundance of curiosity

Or assurance that phenomenon repeats itself

Inhibits fostering of a disillusioned outlook,

Reminiscences it will solely add to the shelf.

Reason fails to escalate acclimatization

Last time, this time and hence again

Recurrence, however sure did teach to rather relish

Than regret walking down the memory lane.

So today I walk out the door with

Expectations none but anticipation unheard

New faces will soon become familiar

Just another day, moving forward..

Moving Forward:

A very well written poem saachi, moving on from teenage angst, is a brilliant idea. Like your poem very much.
