THE ROAD OF SELF (deep thoughts)

variety

a price for virtue itself

the minimal conflict

floods of choice

ride the shoulders of man

with gregarious persistence

the priests of the world

would label such choices

as TEMPTATION

a religious shingle

nothing more

a creation of forced over thought

about one's every action

guilt lain in man made layers

embrace your personal choices

or do so not at all

but abuse not their purpose

rather respect it

for choice is a road

all men must travel

with many confusing off ramps

to take or ignore

yet detour too much to avoid

the more unappealing debris

and you could lose a large

percentage of the possible joy

from the mere simplisticness of

the traveling itself

upon such a freely given

though equally diverse street..........

(about taking the paths offered
in our lives and doing so wisely
and responsibly, not taking always
the easy way out but facing the challenge
and looking back afterward and feeling
glad that you took the path you did even though
when such challenge had started you were not
quite so sure of it in the beginning.)
