Melissa Jane Flesher Dass, 48, of Parkersburg died suddenly Friday, April 8, 2016, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg.

She was born Dec. 1, 1967, in Parkersburg, the daughter of Freda P. Flesher.

Melissa was a 1986 graduate of Parkersburg South High School. She lived several years in North Carolina and returned to the Parkersburg area a few years ago. She previously worked for Go-Mart, Westbrook Health Services and most recently drove for the Yellow Taxi Cab Co.

Melissa had an adventurous, outgoing personality and loved all animals. She was a very strong willed person.

She is survived by her mother, Freda Flesher and one sister, Cindy Lawson, both of Parkersburg; one brother, Bill Flesher of Syracuse, N.Y; two nieces, Tori Brizzolara and her husband, Ryan, of San Diego, Calif., and Maddie Flesher of Endwell, N.Y.; nephew, Chad Lawson of Elizabeth; her best friend, Cara Sullivan and her husband, Bill, of Parkersburg; and her dog of 15 years, Gracie.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Vernie Flesher, in 1980 and her sister, Wendy Ann Flesher in 1995.

At her request, she will be cremated and there will be no visitation. Lambert-Tatman Funeral and Cremation Services, south Parkersburg is assisting the family.
