THE FAIRYTALE ABOUT THE HEIGHTS

The deer die

silently

after a few convulsions

their eyes wide open

and then closed.

Open again,

and remain so,

thus looking at the danger

that killed them.

Nikola,
I know what this is like, my dad hit one with his car and my god the look in that deers eyes made me cry. I sat there holding his head in my lap and crying. so sad their eyes.
Peace and Love be with you

Whoa! The title to this poem threw me off completely, but I really like the powerful imagery there about the deer. But I have a heart for animals, especially those who are really harmless, like a deer for instance. Awww, did it had to die? :P Anyway, the imagery was really sharp and shocking with reality! Nice! How did you come up with this poem?

Nikola,
In opposition of the title. Unique phrazing of the reality of the deer's life and death. Love, peace and freedom, Linda
