Love in this House

The grass is still green; sky is still blue

Yet somehow, tears are falling through

So much yelling, so many fights

Love in this house just isn't right.

Mommy, please just do your best

God will take care of the rest

He'll make our pain go away

Some way, Some how, Some day.

Daddy, please stop yelling

What you'll do next; there is no telling

I will always walk around

With my head held down.

Love in this house just isn't okay

It is all my fault, so I'll leave today

I can pack my things and move away

Never come back another day.

Love in this house just isn't free

This isn't the way it's supposed to be

God will some day give me wings

And I will fly away and sing.

I wrote this... because my parents have been fighting a lot... poetry is one of my many escapes.
