Throne

I wish that I could be a dancer on your court.
I would dance, and I would sing for you.
I would want nothing more than to hear your laugh.
Because laughter is the music of the heart.

I would dance my way into your heart.
From there, I would sing into your soul.
I would listen to it's sweet echoes
And I would revel in my joy.
Of being the one to truly know you.

But I would still be but a jester to you, in all of your greatness.
You would laugh, and smile, but not for me.
Your heart would sing such great songs,
But they would be no tales of requited love,
Only songs of mirth for the moment.

And after my song and dance, I would leave
That sacred place I made for myself
So deep inside your soul, in such great desire
And exit my unknown path to your heart,
Undetected, and undeterred and unrequited.
