In the next life

Folder:
My trashcan poetry

she saw beyond what others see
behind the cold eye's an the rage
she stayed when others said walk away
laughed an said he's not bad

two broken souls with secrets
we can't tell
we couldn't compete with the demons
of our past

they said sing on the dotted line
we need boy's that fight like you

time still turns as the bridges burn
Place and time still on my mind
I still curse the day , I had to walk away
but they said it was better this way
the foolish lies of people growing old
forgetting what it was to be young
only judging from their own failed lives

if I had it to do all over again would I stay
I can't say, so much of me has changed
I can wash the blood from my hands
but I can't change who I am

but Ill be waiting in the next life
this time maybe Ill be a poet
and Ill tell her how much I love her

~ D Donner ~

I just put words that are in my head on paper ( well I guess I'm high tech now ) but I'm not proud use them to whatever ends you may ~ DD ~

Every story-teller bends the myth to his own purpose. that's why a Hero has a thousand faces

Q & A

How many poems does it take to purify the mind?
Answer: Poetry does not purify, it corrodes the bars surrounding the mind and unleashes truth. - Fine penning, this. I offer obeisance, kudos, and congrats! - Lady A
