Ode to the Bastards Who Litter

Folder:
Odes

Use common sense people, shit!

Does it hurt to walk

far less than one-sixteenth of a mile

just to throw away trash?

Why do you think

the city provides fucking trash cans

in public parks?

FUCKING LAZY ASSES.

The sidewalks are littered.

Paperbags aplenty, used napkins,

broken bottles, dried gum stuck to sidewalks;

whatever you name, it's here,

it's there, it's everywhere.

I want to enjoy the park,

the trees, the grass, the blue skies;

A place of R&R when I'm stressed.

And others would agree too who visit

just to enjoy themselves.

So hell no I wouldn't want to see it littered.

It just utterly disgusts me how many won't use

what's available: the trash can.

SO FUCKING USE IT IGNORAMUS!!!

Author's Notes/Comments:

I love the parks in my hometown but hate to see it so trashy-looking.  I park nearby, see trash near the road; there's a trash can not three meters away from me!  What the heck are we going to use the trash can for if we don't use it at all?

I agree that you should throw things away in the trash can instead of just leaving it on the sidewalk at the park, and that just fucking sucks!!

I totally agree with you 100% of what you are saying, and it's true that this environment is out of control with all the litter that is on the floor, and that people aren't bothering to throw it away in the trash. They should know that this world is for everyone, and if they want to make it a good home for all of us, then they shouldn't be littering or just leaving it on the ground. They should be throwing it away in the trash!! Again, good work!! And I agree with you 100%!!

I was a huge environmentalist as a child and I used to rant and rave at randoms who littered and picked up the garbage my friends dropped. And I hugged trees...still do in fact.

Loved the poem.

I totally agree with you and we have the same problem around here in the local parks.
