MIDNIGHT

--------------

Eyes burn with acrid smoke
Past midnight if I‘m right
I‘ve ended my day‘s fight
Seeing wrong and right
Wisdom losing against might
five-hour wait to morning light
Pigeons are asleep in cotes
Fishermen sleeping in their boats
Air is cool and unusually silent
Streetlights gobble electricity
Silent witnesses to nights end
Lone mongrel asleep on the road
Night owl lets out a ‘Hello‘
Trying to say "I'm a wise fellow"
Wondering on the fixed shadows
Cast by the fluroscent lights
During the day the shadows change
With the sun's ascent & descent
At midnight I write to prevent
Myself from falling into the depth
Mind and body shrieking for rest
Goodnight from a Postpoem Pest

Author's Notes/Comments:

These words were fingered onto my antique smartphone on my timeline in facebook.. Mighty Hemaidy commented suggesting something which I interpreted that it could be a postpoems post..
