Wedding Guest (Part III)

Invisible Poetry

He walked in wearing a ten gallon. Nobody looked up except her drowning in the view. Sleek stitched boots, the 45 caliber open carry pea shooter; an anachronism for the scorched West, the rain challenged South, the sophisticated East Coast wind events, the frozen inconsequential North. In his eyes, long verses about a big bird falling to the deck, trips to plays, braided memories, and cow hide  sofas. Suspicious legal Writs showed up, the ink still wet. The chase is made of paper, the Hound is flame-scarred, and there is no crow feast except a few left over stale lime flavored munchies. The gloves are black leather, a nice touch. GQ would be proud. Tartan plaid shirt killed the whole Deep Yank theme. The Motion Picture Academy claimed the Rolex was the tip-off.
.

How do you paint on jeans anyway? From the barstool the scratches on the open neck vee look like albatross claw prints. How is it possible to have only body muscle? No one had premonitions of Sheriff chases and Federal Judges waiting with law books and usa tatoos growing from their gavels. Fireworks are for outsiders, festivals for highway marauders on hogs looking for high society. He covets the counselor's legal library book marks as his skeletal smile predicts purgatories, settles on her curved scyth sheath, and makes a fatal faux pas. It was a stick-up he never saw coming. She only drinks fire, he only eats lit coals; to wit,  a match struck so brilliant most of the regulars evacuated through the dramatically swinging saloon doors.

I'm relishing your vibrant,

I'm relishing your vibrant, striking descriptions of this intriguing character who comes to life under your poetic spell. Your acrobatics of language are simply phenomenal. I can tell you're having a blast writing this series because the enjoyment is contagious. Following this.

This is How

Books start. Short excavations, mining for characters - at life's end, so many books begun, novels eat lifetime. ex. Mississippi Joe. A hoot! Thanks for reading my work. It  is appreciation personified.  :D

I'll Slow Down

.

Tried to keep them short and failed. One thing led to . . .  lengthy verbosity. It's a curse. :D

haha

No need to slow down or truncate, at least not in my opinion. : )

I was honestly waiting till you were at least a couple of parts in before reading, figuring I could sit with it grouped together and read.

I am currently

Rewritting-editng the 1st of the three chapters of The Khansmen that were published in a lit journal over 20 years ago. Painfully arduous. Wedding guest - Time to re-read Rime of the Ancient Mariner. If Biden stops faux pa-ing, I may have time to finishh last episode (S). Really fun to work on.

I have my students read Rime

I have my students read Rime of the Ancient Mariner as a gateway to longform poetry and prose, once they are ready.

Hold no breathe for Biden, keep at it. This is a wonderful work : )
