Star Power

Never underestimate star power

it can truly devour

your heart and soul

with rock n roll

when loss is felt

your heart just melts

you can cry rivers of tears

even tho their music can last for years

too many stars are leaving us

so we're all making quite a fuss

my head's still spinning over Prince

I just can't comprehend

it's really the end

such a devastating loss

we all can go at any time

that's always been a pet peeve of mine

2016 April PAD Challenge: Day 22

By: Robert Lee Brewer | April 22, 2016

For today’s prompt, take the phrase “Star (blank),” replace the blank with a word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write the poem. Possible titles include: “Star-struck,” “Star Man,” “Star Wars Prequels Aren’t Star Wars Movies,” “Starter Set,” “Stark Raving Mad,” and so on. Remember: I’m totally fine with prompts that get bent a bit.

I Don't Pluck Flowers

I seriously doubt

I'd dream about

plucking a flower in heaven

I don't pluck flowers anywhere

so why would I do it there
