My Uncle Is Dying

The title is the truth,

such a man, oh, how he fought

to win, to find another front,

to rally, to dare new untested methods,

methods that hurt both sides

but he never gave up

surrender, not an option

My Uncle Is Dying.

ten years, rounded down

I watched him fight, and fight

so many times the victor,

that this is not fair,

but life is not fair is it...

this once bear of a man

so small now, so frail...

and the enemy has him...

there will be no knives

no operations, or sessions

only advice, make your peace,...

spend time with the closest

let known your last wishes...

so few tomorrows...

But on to what comes next...

You're simply going back home

you've fought and struggled this life enough

rest now, and take with you our love,

until the day of our own,

then we will meet again,...

so few tomorrows...

So I need to say a few things...

First off, thank you Uncle Bobby...

For showing the magic of the back country,...

for fighting as long and hard as you have,...

and for being  my uncle...

We will miss you...

until the day we get to come home too.
