For so many years I dreamed of you

Sensed your presence

And you waited

You are more precious to me than riches

More valuable than my very breath

And I would give my life to see you live

You are my inspiration and drive

You are my child, my son

I look into your eyes and see all amazing things

Your smile can drive away the darkest storm

Each day I am amazed at how much you learn

And how wise such a young mind can be

I'm still getting to know you

And I am sure I have yet to realize the impact of your soul on me, and this world

The moment you were born everything stood still for a moment

And I knew then that everything had changed

And that this world was a better place now that you were in it

I pray for your future

Follow your heart

And enrich your mind

Take deep breaths and meditate

Dance when you can

And run with your dreams

Be still and know you are a child of the Goddess

I wrote this poem about my son soon after he was born.

You have labored for many

And birthed more than twenty

Your room has been filled

With daughters a plenty

How you house so many

I do not know

But your great capacity to love

continues to grow.

Taking many under your wing

You give encouragement,

Hope, and wise counseling.

An example of a lady

Grace, class and style

you demonstrate

As our eyes look up to you

Wanting to emulate

the standards you regulate

You are so sweet

I  hear you saying

“how are you doing honey?”

And always eyeball contact

and so sincere

You are the real thing,

you really do care.

You Always have such supportive words

that stimulate confidence and belief

that the best is yet to come

so despair is brief

you have touched my heart

with the love of God that

exudes from your smile

and is perceived by the ear

From the declaration of life you share

the words out of your mouth are fresh water

so hear my heart mother

as one of your dear daughters

I speak for all

We love you

You are special, precious and dear

Words can’t say enough

We appreciate all that you do

Behind the scenes

After hours

Every prayer prayed

Every Hug you shower

Yes you do it all

And still have time to take my call

Then you come in here all flown

With a smile

Never a frown on your face

With joy you dance all around

You have made the devil

out of a fool and a clown

Elegant, strong, walking tall,

For you have overcome

Victories won

Your Testimonies as songs

are anthems to our faith

you are a living miracle

staring us in the face

a survivor

a soldier

a winner

a hero

a wife

a mother.

fill-us-so-feed the-or-ea

let me explain my philosophy

i am a man of sticks stuck in a tree

the wooden is how is my knee

this is my theory, you see

it's greed, i like eating seeds

because that's what i feed

i hunger on the deed

the warning i heed is what i need

i live in cave that being what i crave

the road i do pave dost make me rave

the eye's reflection

the past direction

a small injection

of the truth you deny

deny my theory five times

you don't understand what it means

for it's the rabbit, i'll feed it beans

all the squirrels want to wear black jeans

for it's hereditary in the genes

against the plank on which he leans

i'll point out what he means

what he wants to point out to you

but cannot for he has the flu

you see, the philosopher is blue

so his theory, point it out is what i do

and within the cow he goes moo

don't you see that this is true?

it's two philosophies that nobody had a chance to comprehend

this theory i shall, until the time comes i will lend

at the thought, your mind does bend

understand, understand

this is where we all stand

and the ocean is our rubber band

and the glue is our green land

and we are the sand

we are the sand

Children

They do as we do and not as we say.

That's just their way, They do it every day.

They follow our example,

Only at the wrong moment in time to give us a sample.

They really are one of life's joys.

But through the centuries,

They've learned to play us like one of their toys.

Giving a little whimper, Then showing their temper.

Only to be pardend like a crook and get off the hook.

As they age they'll go through many a different stage,

so be careful in which battles you wage.

For they can go from sweet and adorable

to bitter and horrible.

But no matter how mischevious,

Just remember that they're a part of us,

And that their senseless actions will soon halt,

and there will no longer be a child

there will be an adult.

Smeared make-up under my eyes

What im doin is wrong but I cant hide

It's sad that I can't turn back

But money is money that puts clothes on thier backs

Wasn't there fault that thier daddy left me

Im happy he's outta sight

Gotta feed three kids and the youngest is sick

But were alright

Blessed

Hey you, you’re a child in my head

You haven’t walked yet

Your first words have yet to be said

But I swear you’ll be blessed

I know you’re still just a dream

Your eyes might be green

Or the bluest that I’ve ever seen

Anyway you’ll be blessed

And you, you’ll be blessed

You’ll have the best

I promise you that

I’ll pick a star from the sky

Pull your name from a hat

I promise you that, promise you that, promise you that

You’ll be blessed

I need you before I’m too old

To have and to hold

To walk with you and watch you grow

And know that you’re blessed

Love this Child

Her mother has hit her hard

But never hard enough to leave a mark

Now her father has left this scar

This deep scar within her heart

And everyday they grow farther

And father apart

Oh father

Dear sweet father

Listen to what I have to say

You know what she's been through

All the pain

Is no more than it's worth

Father love this child

Love this child

And maybe she deserved it

Had it coming

Then again maybe not

But how could you blame her

For not respecting you

When she has no respect for herself

Oh father

Dear sweet father

Listen to what I have to say

You know what she's been through

All the pain

Is no more than it's worth

Father love this child..

Love me father..

Your face warms my heart

Your smile melts me

Your voice is like a song I love to hear

To hold you is a gift

To play with you is my enjoyment

I’m so in love with you

When you were born I was young

Your size intimidated me

But I grew and watched you grow

So smart and wise

I imagine all of the things you will be

Doctor, Astronaut, Architect, Lawyer, Philosopher, Teacher

Husband

Father

Friend

And always, my son
