Darklight and Sun Shadows

Folder:
Just a thought!

Darklight and sun shadows mine the forest floor.

Stepping out of one, into the other,

carefully avoiding detection.

Keen smell, senses heightened, weary of wind change,

they forage intermittently to sustain,

aware of a fragile existence.

Life under Mother natures beauty and care.

Free to rome, only one rule to retain...

"I am the hunted."

Author's Notes/Comments:

Just a thought, came to mind from an old, old song. "Home on the Range"...where the deer and the antelope play...

Stop to Think

Did you ever stop to think
What it would be like,
Without the birds that sing?
Without the golden sun,
That surrounds everything?

Did you ever stop to think
What it would be like,
Without the trees so tall?
Without the turning leaves,
That always come with Fall?

Did you ever stop to think
What it would be like,
Without the wind that blows?
Without the cold and chill,
That comes with Winter snows?

Did you ever stop to think
What it would be like,
Without flowers in the Spring?
Without the wonderful smell,
That new blossoms bring?

Did you ever stop to think
What it would be like,
Without the streams and lakes?
Without the babbling brook,
And the winding path it takes?

Did you ever stop to think
What it would be like,
Without the clouds so white?
Without all the dark clouds,
That turn day into night?

Did you ever stop to think
What it would be like,
Without the thunder and the rain?
Without the vast open fields,
Of ripe, golden grain?

Did you ever stop to think
What it would be like,
Witout a valley or a hill?
Without snow capped mountains,
That tons of rocks can build?

Did you ever stop to think
What it would be like,
If all this was made by man?
He could never do it,
Only Mother Nature can.

Did you ever stop to think
What it would be like,
If your life was gone in a wink?
No, I bet you haven't,
So you'd
Better
Stop
And
Think.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I never really paid much attention to these things until I was told that I have Cancer.
Now, I "Stop to Tnink".

The World Needs An Audience

Ever give the world an audience?
Just before the brilliant Sun glides,
Evermore towards western horizons,
To Kiss the sweet face off it's daughter.
Our very own dear mother earth.
Whispering words made of colors.
Then the sky ignites on fire, and the night arrives.
Perfect contrasts and,
What I am thankful 4.
Each 1 is a treasure.
A gift of unique measure.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I try to stop each evening, take a breath and watch the sunset in awe... You should do the same. =)

Daughter

Folder:
Nature Poems

A beam of shy light
Caressed her cheek
As she sat under her
Oak tree
Leaves of many colors
Red
Orange
Yellow
Brown
Fell all around her
And made a circle
It was autumn yet again
A cool breeze brushed
The soft, brown hair
From her bright, young face
The face of Mother Nature's daughter
Smiling, shining
Sent to Earth to bring
Beautiful color
And happiness
To our world

Author's Notes/Comments:

Just some autumnal poetry from long ago.
