ESSENTIAL AND CORROSIVE

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem should be perfectly centered in the middle of the page, to bring out the shape of the lamp. Oh well...It's incredibly ironic that 5 essentials for life are also the 5 most important factors for decay.  Take anything from a sack of garbage to the great pyramids and mix gently with water, oxygen, heat, light, and a tincture of time and you have a perfect recipe for decay!
God has a sense of irony.

To a special lady who has helped me to understand more about this craft than all the years I spent in school.  Thanks and hugs.  You know who you are.

TIME TO BE COUNTED

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem expresses a rather conservative viewpoint, although the real world has moral shades of gray, whether we like it or not.  But I do think I have captured the viewpoint anyway. Certainly, this viewpoint should apply to ALL forms of terrorism.

This was written about a particularly self-righteous individual who was certain to get a come-upance eventually.
