Calamitous

I float swiftly
down to shallow depths

landing with
grace after
her stygian embrace
Darkest parts of me clutched in winter's nether grasp
heat of late summer's final madness gripping me tightly
a vain notion of escaping

Its life, forfeit, as mine. Its auspices, lost and adrift to a blasted and battered landscapewhere all is quiet & where all is said and done

& Where am I awoken from a gifts ungiven where all is dust

It's a deception manifest in evanescent quiet where I wander through empty forests
to hollow cities
to boundless expanse

to find only iron and ash
for time immemorial
in this wake of an unknown world
that lay before me
I alone, in a world absent of familiarity.
Crackling distant anger of gods, roiling in canyons and mountains
under an extolling electric atmosphere

my fleeting skies changing violently, wherever I am.

Kaleidoscopic Viewing

Dream sequence internal like; storm fast approaching calm vistas - an awe of images - well painted with a sharp eye-quill.

Great poem and I like your choice of words and decriptive value. Portraying a real nightmare scene, inspiring.
