Your Skin Is Bruised And I Feel Used

We spend this night apart

It's like we're going nowhere

A solid second passes from where we started

Now I'm trapped inside this web

Suffocating from the laughter

There's no comfort when the pillow hits my head

And now we're stuck with goodbyes

The blue sky's turning frail

Your skin is bruised and I feel used

From all these years shared between us

Can't trust the ones that need us

I feel better when I'm down and used

From this abuse that's shared between us

If it makes you think back to the time

You said, "I'll never leave you standing"

But that's just too demanding of a pick up line

So goodbye

Take what you have brought now

Take the jewelery off your finger

This memory will linger 'til it makes you want to break

So goodbye

Take what you have brought now

Take the jewelery off your finger

This love will surely sting her all the way to bone

And now we're stuck with goodbyes

The blue sky's turning frail

Your skin is bruised and I feel used

From all the tears shed between us

Why did we think that they would clean us

Cause I feel better when I'm down and used

Now I'm confused especially when I'm sober

Take the jewelery off

It doesn't mean a thing

Wow. You have a lot of poems here. Well I suppose you have been writing for a few years..lol. I'm gonna read as many as I can, they're great, you really have a gift as a writer. So far, I love this one particularly, it's got an interesting structure and concept. I liked the lines:
'This memory will linger 'til it makes you want to break'...and 'You said, "I'll never leave you standing"
But that's just too demanding of a pick up line.'
Awesome Peice. Sorry for such a long comment!
