EMPTINESS WITHOUT YOU

There's no more messes to clean up,

No messy rooms,

No water on the bathroom floor,

No wet heads to dry,

No meals to fix and

No cheeks to kiss at night.

This house is so empty without you here

That sometimes I imagine you're still here

Crying for me to help fix a scrape

Or yelling at one another over a toy.

But when I go to see,

There's nothing but your toys

And happy memories

Of my beautiful babies

Who used to live here with me.

A tear slides down my face,

As I remember the day you left-

Two small arms circled my neck

As both of you gave me a hug and kiss.

You said,"Mommy we love you and we'll be back."

I'm holding you to those words baby,

Mommy loves and misses you terribly.
