Brutality is worshipped
and peace ignored
How is it that tanks of Visigoths pull down statues
of Saddam Hussein, president of Iraq..
while leaving a monument to violence
on Massachusetts Ave?
Whether one is a pacifist
or likes force's fists
the bombing of civilians in
Dresden, Berlin, Cologne
was an act of revenge
taken out on civilians
who had nothing to do with
Hitler's decision to bomb
London.
As an old infantryman during the second world war I feel qualified to say that you will never understand that freedom and democracy will always have to be fought for.
You should thank your God that you have that freedom, (but I have no doubt that YOU didn`t fight for it. OTHERS DID!.)
Would YOU have allowed Hitler or Stalin or Papa Doc to take whatever they wanted and kill millions in order to force their wills on others?.
It is so easy to be a pacifist. You are GIVEN the freedom to follow that philosophy. Please try to guard and protect it.
