Heirophant

oak and willow grant similar energy

and give power of ages.

 

Walk slowly between

two aisles

 

Stand on tiptoe if you

must.
use your soil to
bend with
closed eyes

breathing
deeply

a fragrance that gathers
in still air under your

face

until

you feel ready.

And if it all seems,

then lean with

ears close to

a knobbly

sturdy root.

Trees are talking

and drumming
and strumming.

 

That's been echoing


forever on this earth,

 

Just like trees, in all honesty, do

I cannot quite explain why, but this poem impressed me in ways I cannot describe.
