Spring In Hiding.

The sky grey, closed in, falling low

between new fledged leaves

draws forth the sharp cut green:

polished gems now emerald set,

to ring each bony bough.

Silence hangs about the hour,

awaits the wind's first breath,

a calling to those guarded skies

to smile upon the spring.

"awaits the wind's first breath,"

I love this line because silence is waiting for it. It says spring: the gems around the bough - Marvelously woven images. Stored poetic energy released in an explosion of pictorial poetics. We are so lucky to share the same life-line with you. :D xoxoxxo - slc
