Poetry in Motion

Poetry in Motion

By Jfarrell

(inspired by Johnny Tillotson’s “Poetry in Motion”)

With fluidity,

She glides across the floor,

Slyly,

She smiles at me,

A mischievous wink

As I am engulfed

In her radiance;

Enraptured

My heart soars

Touching, scarring the heavens

Freed

To become anything

Everything

I blossom in her very presence.

All this for a woman?

No

An angel stepped down from heaven

Touched my cheek

And said follow

So I follow

With the grace and majesty of an eagle

She has given me the power to sprout wings and fly

She is the very essence of everything

And she has put

My poetry in motion.
