Solitude

I went looking for Trust

but found it expensive

I went looking for Love

And wound up pensive

I went looking for Solitude

Found lonliness instead

Searched out Peace

For Chaos I dread

Refused to take chance

Or even a leap

Choosing instead

My heart to keep

But Fate stepped in

And helped me to see

That you, dear one

Had feelings for me

So if you walk beside me

Know this to be true

Should I give you my heart

You're one of a few

'Cause Trust is expensive

And Love can tell lies

Solitude, while lonely

Is there when you cry

Author's Notes/Comments:

Written soon after meeting Him in 2006...and boy, was I scared!  Best leap of faith I ever took!
