Love Is Unburnable

Folder:
Love

He has stood

at the gate to death

as his loved ones

left him behind

.. one went through

by way of accident

.. another at the hand

of random violence..

.. a third dwelt

in the chambers of

memory loss

As he learned

through another's

infidelity that

only God's love

is omnipresent..

As he has stood

in a flood watching

the ink on paper

merge with the river,

or by a fire watching

precious books go up in

smoke

or watched mudslides

on television or hurricanes

as the elements show us

who is boss..

these all whispered

ONLY LOVE REMAINS

and as he climbed

the hill of Love

he saw

that the land of Love

contained every jot and tittle

.. every thought.. every word

ever spoken

every being

.. all waiting there

for his one day return

in the meantime hovering

invisibly around him

giving him unseed aid

Dear Ohioan; thanks for your critq. of my Sonnet by Elizabeth. It is quie obvious that you know the power of eternally promisd Love. The love which promted Eliz. to write to Robt. was also my aim. Your comment has told me that I someway succeeded, in that you used the lovely term "infinite". Is that not what all real, true Love is? Thank you. I would really appreciate your inspection of any other of my Sonnets. I intend to answer Eliz. 's every sonnet with one of my own. Thanks again; Rex.

"Poe" I'm not, nor "Rich" am I,
